The 24-year-old who joined the Blues in August 2023 will become one of the top three highest-paid players at the club, with wages expected to exceed £200,000 per week.

Asked about Caicedo, Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior said,” For me, Moises is one of the best defensive midfield players, if not the best defensive midfield player, in world football.

“That’s because of his intelligence, his physicality, his technical quality, and how he understands the game.”

With six matches left in the Premier League season, Chelsea has not played very well overall. They are currently in sixth place with 48 points. So far, they have won 13 matches, lost 10, and drawn 9.

Their season has been up and down, with some good performances but also many disappointing results.

They dropped points in games they could have won. Injuries and changes in the team have also made it hard for them to stay consistent.

Chelsea can still try to finish in the top four, but they will need to win most of their remaining games and hope other teams lose points. If not, their main goal will be to finish in a European spot and do better next season.

Sky Sports Senior Journalist Kaveh Solhekol believes that if players are not happy at the club, they will not be signing new contracts, and fans will be excited about this.

“I think this is a major boost for Chelsea in this difficult time. The results have not been good; there’ve been unwelcome headlines linking players.

“I think fans will be very happy with this news. Moises Caicedo obviously is pledging his future to Chelsea. He still believes in what is happening at Chelsea”.
