Manchester United’s Noussair Mazraoui will report for international duty with Morocco while Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko remain sidelined.
The defender is expected to feature against Ecuador national team and Paraguay national team, with Morocco using the matches to build rhythm ahead of a crucial international period.
In contrast, Bryan Mbeumo has been forced to withdraw from the Cameroon national team squad as a precaution. The forward was taken off in the 71st minute during his side’s 2-2 draw with AFC Bournemouth, and the decision has been made to avoid any risk of aggravating the issue. He will now miss friendlies against Australia national team and China national team.
There was further disruption for Manchester United, with Benjamin Sesko also pulling out of international duty. The centre-forward has been managing a fitness concern in recent weeks, and the decision was taken to prioritise his recovery.
Sesko will therefore miss Slovenia’s fixtures against Hungary national team and Montenegro national team, with the club keen to ensure he returns to full fitness for the run-in.
The international break arrives at a key moment in the calendar, with several nations competing in decisive 2026 World Cup play-offs while others continue preparations for the upcoming global tournament set to be staged across United States, Canada and Mexico.
Domestic action is temporarily on hold, with Michael Carrick’s side not returning to action until 13 April, when they host Leeds United at Old Trafford.
