FFOS LAS

Race 2 No1 INISHCORKER
Trainer: Rebecca Curtis – Jockey: Harry Cobden

INISHCORKER carded a career best when beaten over today’s course and distance whilst earning at Haydock and Uttoxeter to make him the one to beat in the opening maiden hurdle, and for a popular local stable.

Race 3 No2 SPARKLING DUKE (Nap)
Trainer: Kayley Woollacott- Jockey: Ben Jones

Underfoot conditions are perfect for SPARKLING DUKE who looked very assured when scoring over the course and distance last time. It was his second success in just three starts this season, and there should be more to come.

HUNTINGDON

Race 3 No2 MAHONS GLORY
Trainer: Dylan Cunha – Jockey: Lee Edwards

Cunha is not recognised for his successes with handicap chasers, but the South African looks like he can provide the answer to this two and a half miler in the shape of MAHONS GLORY. The selection has finished second in three of his five outings this season including when chasing home a good yardstick in Filanderer at Market Rasen. He deserves a change of luck, and it can happen today.

Race 4 No3 CLOUDY WEDNESDAY
Trainer: Caroline Fryer – Jockey: Lewis Stones

Five times chase winner CLOUDY WEDNESDAY has a lengthy absence to overcome but is considered fit enough to back up a Market Rasen success when last seen in June. Consistency is his forte, and he gets the vote at the main expense of DIAMOND DE VINDECY who can form the flip side of the exacta.

Race 6 No5 DOTTIES STAR (Each Way)
Trainer: Pat Phelan – Jockey: Sean Houlihan

Phelan is another trainer whose jump runners are few and far between. His candidate DOTTIES STAR isn’t an obvious choice for this handicap hurdle but there was money for her when she was beaten at Plumpton, and it can be recouped.

Race 7 No4 HIDDEN MOUNTAIN (Nap)
Trainer: Kim Bailey – Jockey: Thomas Bellamy

HIDDEN MOUNTAIN is a rare bet for me in the bumper on a first outing for Bailey and with arguably the best form in the contest. That happened when he finished second to Broadway Ted at Ayr and it’s likely a change of scenery will not have impaired the gelding’s progress for a match up with course and distance scorer MILPAT.
