LEICESTER
Race 1 No2 FAY CE QUE VOUDRAS (Nap)
Trainer: Kerry Lee – Jockey: Tom Cannon
In a race that has cut up, FAY CEO QUE VOUDRAS can benefit. She put a fall at Ffos Las behind her when scoring easily over two and threequarter miles at this course and won’t mind cutting back to this shorter trip
Race 6 No1 BOWTOGREATNESS
Trainer: Dale Peters – Jockey: Mr Dale Peters
One time smart three mile handicap chaser BOWTOGREATNESS is young enough to do well in the Hunter-chase division even though he fell short when last seen in a point-to-point in December. He’s wearing a hood for the first time, and can make his smart jumping pay dividends on a course where he won over hurdles in his novice days.
CATTERICK BRIDGE
Race 3 No7 FORCETORECKONWITH
Trainer: Oliver Greenall – Jockey: Craig Nichol
FORCETORECKONWITH is a three mile point winner and looked to want a stiffer test on her latest Rules start at this course. Two miles is therefore on the short side, but she could get a decent pace to aim at in a race where most of her opponents are badly out of form.
Race 5 No4 NOT A LIGHT (Nap)
Trainer: Philip Hobbs – Jockey: Callum Pritchard
An interesting journeyman from the West Country, NOT A LIGHT is more than worthy of a market check. He’s improved from race to race in three starts this season and especially when moved up in trip. Although 3lb higher for his Wincanton defeat he’s more than capable of surmounting it.
NEWCASTLE
Race 1 No5 INAPPROPRIATE
Trainer: Jedd O’Keeffe – Jockey: Sam James
The addition of blinkers helped INAPPROPRIATE post a better effort when second on this course. That was only his second public appearance of the season, and with the headgear retained he is the one to beat.
Race 3 No3 SEVEN FIRES (Nap)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: George Bass
Sioux Nation filly SEVEN FIRES made a bold fist of trying to lead from gate to wire at Chelmsford where she was only overhauled in the closing stages. She probably went off harder than ideal, and if getting a more measured ride can definitely open her account.
Race 5 No3 AGE OF TIME
Trainer: Ian Williams – Jockey: Billy Loughnane
Although he’s run well without winning, this looks the right race for AGE OF TIME to come good. He retains the blinkers that were added for his recent defeat at Wolverhampton where he closed all the way to the line. He also enjoys very good assistance from the saddle.
Race 8 No1 DREAM ILLUSION
Trainer: Michael Herrington – Jockey: Jason Hart
DREAM ILLUSION loomed with a double handful when going for the hat-trick at Southwell on Friday but found Packerofbiscuits getting first run on her. Stepping up to 1600 metres shouldn’t pose any problems, and she’s strongly fancied to return to winning ways.
SOUTHWELL
Race 4 No2 FOREVER NOAH (Nap)
Trainer: Joey Ramsden – Jockey: Sean Levey
Another AW specialist that narrowly missed out last week was FOREVER NOAH. Not only is the gelding 2lb lower but he will be just as effective back at his optimum trip of 1200 metres for the in form Ramsden stable.
Race 5 No4 PIPERSTOWN
Trainer: Kevin Frost – Jockey: Oliver Stammers
All PIPERSTOWN’s form this season has been at Wolverhampton but he should fare well on this return to Southwell, as he ran into one when second two weeks ago and can compete from an unchanged mark.
