FONTWELL PARK

Race 1 No1 CRACKERJACQUE (Nap)
Trainer: Anthony Honeyball- Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies

With two successes from three attempts over hurdles including over today’s course and distance, CRACKERJACQUE can take out an interesting opener. He had been out of his depth in a Grade 2 at Sandown but in this company he should have the measure of GAELIC PRIDE.

Race 2 STAR SPORTS NATIONAL SPIRIT HURDLE (Grade 2)

No1 POTTERS CHARM
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Sam Teiston-Davies

In a sense this is a drop in class for POTTERS CHARM who faces a couple of opponents that have been round the block and seen better days. The seven-year-old is near the peak of his powers, as he showed when scoring at Windsor, and with his tail up on a track that will suit can justify his short odds in Fontwell’s most prestigious race.

Race 6 No1 CHEAP SANDWICHES
Trainer: Chris Gordon – Jockey: Freddie Gordon

CHEAP SANDWICHES showed ability as a pointer and despite running green fared well to finish second on debut under Rules at Warwick. For a trainer with a good record in bumpers at this course he is strongly fancied to go one better.

HEREFORD

Race 1 No1 APOLLON FORLONGE
Trainer: Warren Greatrex – Jockey: James Bowen

APOLLON FORLONGES has the beating of No Boundaries but needs to put behind him a costly defeat at Newbury when he ran into one after being backed from odds against to odds on. It’s never easy carrying a penalty, but he can bounce back.

Race 2 No7 MADAME LA PAPILLON (Nap)
Trainer: Claire Dyson – Jockey: Alice Stevens

MADAME LA PAPILLON a has run well in both starts over hurdles and especially when second at Newcastle. The former bumper winner jumps well and can open her account as a jumper at the expense of JUST A GLANCE.

Race 3 No7 FLOWNG CADENZA
Trainer: Venetia Williams – Jockey: Charlie Deutsch

FLOWING CADENZA looked like she was coming to the boil with a very good run in defeat at Huntington at a time her stable was badly out of form. That situation has changed, and from the foot on the weights the veteran can roll back the years to go one better.

Race 5 No1 WALK TALL (Each Way)
Trainer: Joe Tizzard – Jockey: Brendan Powell

WALK TALL is carded to start as a roughie in this novices’ handicap hurdle but he is the one with the greatest potential. I felt he ran better than his finishing position indicated at Kempton and that in a weaker race he can do a lot better. Whatever happens today, he’s a horse to follow and especially when he goes over fences.
