BANGOR-ON-DEE

Race 1 No4 FORTUNE DANCER
Trainer: Chris Gordon – Jockey: Freddie Gordon

Front running mare FORTUNE DANCER has forged a fine understanding with her jockey. The combination gamely fought off all challengers to complete a hat-trick at Windsor, and from a higher mark a similar outcome is firmly on the cards.

Race 2 No1 ROSSCAHILL (Each Way)
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies

ROSSCAHILL gallops with an exaggerated action but he is a talented individual who just needs to show he’s put some training issues behind him. On his first run in more than 100 days he needs respecting, even though the handicapper looks to have shown him scant mercy.

Race 7 No4 GOOD BOY BOBBY (Nap)
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Miss Amber Jackson

Having won first time out for five of the seasons he has raced, GOOD BOY BOBBY is the best bet on this card on his return to the fray, and on a first outing in a hunter-chase. The 13-year-old fared well in veterans’ chases last season, and his superior jumping should enable him to turn back the clock as he’s a good ride for an inexperienced pilot.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 1 No10 GOOD KARMA (Each Way)
Trainer: John Riches – Jockey: Callum Hutchinson

Apart from a single appearance for a different trainer GOOD KARMA has plied his trade for Riches with a handful of podium finishes. Importantly his favoured AW track is this one, where he posted his only success on sand, and following a freshening break he’s more than capable of getting into the shake-up at a price.

Race 5 No8 RAIN CAP (Each Way)
Trainer: John Riches – Jockey: Callum Hutchinson

RAIN CAP is an infrequent runner on the AW who is fit to oblige in six visits to Dunstall Park. However, on his latest start he put up an 8pm to Ed showing to trouble the judge, and with his habit of making the frame he can again get into the shake up.

NEWCASTLE

Race 1 No4 MARIA DA SILVER (Nap)
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: Jason Watson

One to take seriously on her first run in a handicap is MARIA DA SILVER. The daughter of Showcasing has plenty of stamina on the dam’s side of her chart and that should stand her in good stead as she steps up in trip today. Over 1400 metres here last time she was stretching away at the finish.

Race 5 No10 CATCH CUNNINGHAM (Each Way)
Trainer: Michael Herrington – Jockey: Shane Gray

A speculative advice is to back CATCH CUNNINGHAM to come out of the wilderness. The hooded selection has been out of sorts but was a winner on one of only two previous visits to Gosforth Park. He’s better than he’s been showing, and has consequently taken a drop in the weights.

Race 6 No7 BADRI (Each Way)
Trainer: Michael Herrington – Jockey: Jason Hart

From the same stable, BADRI can rise to the occasion. He went down fighting on a recent run over course and distance for which a 1lb rise hardly seems excessive. He’s a less risky proposition, and can again trouble the judge.

Race 7 No7 CHAMPAGNE POWDER (Nap)
Trainer: Oliver Cole – Jockey: Tom Marquand

CHAMPAGNE POWDER has endured a topsy turvy time of things owing to his tendency to take a keen grip n his races. However he was more controlled when being denied in a photo on his latest outing at Chelmsford, and now gets first time cheek pieces under a top jockey.
