Reports earlier this week confirmed Palace have reached an agreement with Tottenham for the 24-year-old attacker, although Johnson has yet to decide whether he wants to make the move across London. Talks over his future are expected in the coming days, with Bournemouth also monitoring the situation as they prepare for a potential departure of Antoine Semenyo in January.

Frank, however, stressed that Johnson is still available for selection and is expected to feature in Tottenham’s New Year’s Day trip to Brentford.

“There are always rumours,” Frank said at his pre-match press conference. “I don’t comment on players coming in or going out. Brennan trained very well and I fully expect him to be available and able to play.”

Johnson, who joined Spurs from Nottingham Forest in 2023 for 47.5 million pounds, was the club’s leading scorer last season with 18 goals, including the Europa League final winner that ended a 17-year trophy drought. This campaign he has found opportunities more limited, scoring four goals in 22 appearances, largely operating as cover for Mohammed Kudus on the right wing.

Tottenham’s interest in adding another attacker in January could further restrict Johnson’s role. The club are understood to be tracking RB Leipzig teenager Yan Diomande and Manchester City winger Savinho.
