WINDSOR

Race 2 No7 TEDDINGTON LOCK (Nap)
Trainer: Sara Bradstock – Jockey: Miss Lily Bradstock

TEDDNGTON LOCK ground it out to prevail in a Fontwell bumper but should be happier on this easier ground on which the emphasis is on stamina. The hooded mare has schooled well at home ahead of this switch to hurdles. His pilot conjured a good tune out of her that day, and can hopefully do the same again.

Race 5 No1 STONER’S CHOICE (Each Way)
Trainer: Fergal O’Brien – Jockey: Fern O’Brien

Waiting tactics haven’t worked on STONER’S CHOICE who is a natural front runner. This was graphically evident on his latest start at Carlisle where he was unable to mount a challenge. Should connections opt to be more aggressive with the gelding he can bounce back, as this sharp figure-of-eight track will suit his style of racing.

Race 7 No3 LOCKED DOWN LAD
Trainer: Joe Tickle – Jockey: Callum Pritchard

Although he is an infrequent winner, LOCKED DOWN LAD can’t be deemed as ungenuine and this is an opportunity he can take. He was doing his best work at the finish when second at Chepstow last time when bumping into a well handicapped foe. He’s progressed with five frame finishes from as many starts and deserves to get his head in front.

EXETER

Race 2 No3 KATIE’S MELODY
Trainer: Harry Derham – Jockey: Paul O’Brien

KATIE’S MELODY made all when scoring at Ffos Las in a mares’ bumper where she relished the easy conditions. She lorded it over inferior rivals on that occasion, and as it was her first outing under Rules there should be more to come. Winner of an Irish point previously, she can get the better of a more exposed rival in BETTY’S TIARA.

Race 3 No3 BLENKINSOP (Nap)
Trainer: Henry Daly – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies

Daly’s BLENKINSOP hasn’t won for two years and is having just a second outing over fences, but there is encouragement to glean from his first chase start at Cheltenham where he charged up the final hill to finish just out of the money. That should have sharpened up the eight-year-old, who though not without his issues looks well treated in this staying test.

Race 4 No2 RANGE
Trainer: Sam Thomas – Jockey: Mr Harvey Barfoot

In taking an early fall it’s hard to know how RANGE would have fared on his Stratford return. His trainer is using a return to hurdles to restore his confidence, and while he will continue as a chaser this is an opportunity he can cash in on especially if he’s given some leeway at the front end of proceedings.
