CARLISLE

Race 3 No1 STONER’S CHOICE
Trainer: Fergal O’Brien – Jockey: Fern O’Brien

STONER’S CHOICE took a walk in the market when returning in a handicap hurdle at Cheltenham but now finds himself in a completely different scenario. His trademark front running tactics are likely to be employed in this veterans’ handicap chase. He will be fitter for last month’s outing and can prove hard to catch.

Race 5 No5 STEEL ALLY (Nap)
Trainer: Sam Thomas – Jockey: Dylan Johnston

STEEL ALLY brings very good hurdling form to the table for a first run over fences in this graduation chase. He finished second in the Welsh Champion Hurdle on his first run back last season before scoring in a Grade 2 handicap hurdle at Haydock. In a select campaign he went down by just a neck to Nemean Lion in another Grade 2 hurdle at Fontwell, and though disappointing on a final start at Aintree has looked very adept in his schooling. He should deliver for a trainer-jockey combination that can do little wrong.

Race 6 No8 CHASE A FORTUNE (Each Way)
Trainer: Chris Grant – Jockey: Danny McMenamin

CHASE A FORTUNE has been campaigned over fences since undergoing a successful breathing operation, but after falling on his latest start at Kelso he’s back over hurdles. He can show that it’s more than just a confidence building exercise by opening his account for the season.

KEMPTON PARK

Race 2 No3 JIMBO SPORT (Nap)
Trainer: Ben Pauling – Jockey: Ben Jones

JIMBO SPORT placed in three points in Ireland before joining Pauling and making a successful first appearance under Rules in a Hereford bumper. After attracting plenty of support he made all and fended off a useful market rival. He’s a good prospect for novice hurdles, and can get the better of penalised ICE IN THE VEINS.

Race 7 No6 BEBSIDE BANTER
Trainer: Max Comley – Jockey: Freddie Mitchell

BEBSIDE BANTER raised his game to post a first success under his current trainer at Worcester in which forcing tactics reaped dividends. If turning out in similar mood the eight-year-old should follow-up, as in contrast to him his opponents have been out of form.
