GOODWOOD

Race 2 No6 MOLLSTAR
Trainer: Ed Walker – Jockey: Kieran Shoemark

Starman filly MOLLSTAR has put in some pleasing work ahead of this late entry to the juvenile stage. An early foal, she’s taken a while to come to hand but needs respecting as her dam was a six times winner, including over this 1200 metres trip as a two-year-old.

Race 3 No10 CRAZEE ICON (Nap)
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: Oisin Murphy

CRAZEE ICON goes down as one of the most unlucky losers of the season with her narrow defeat on handicap debut at Chester. The daughter is Sixties Icon was heavily supported, but after missing the break ran into all sorts of trouble, getting blocked and then being forced to make her charge up the far rail. She is a perfect example of a winner without a penalty, and granted better luck under the champion jockey should deliver.

Race 6 No6 MR CHAPLIN
Trainer: Ralph Beckett – Jockey: Rossa Ryan

Locally trained MR CHAPLIN did us a good turn with his Newmarket success after contesting a couple of high profile handicaps and not enjoying much luck at the big meetings. When returning to Headquarters over 1400 metres he missed out on a cheque, but was nevertheless beaten only three and a half lengths. It was a better race than this, and on this move back to a mile he can put his best foot forward for a popular success.

CHEPSTOW

Race 4 No1 CELTIC DINO (Nap)
Trainer: Sam Thomas – Jockey: Dylan Johnston

This now three day weekend fixture has added the Welsh Champion Hurdle to its itinerary and CELTIC DINO should joint its roll of honour. Although not yet at the level his connections might have hoped for, he remains an exciting prospect whose move to fences could be curtailed with a good start to the current campaign as a hurdler. Never out of the money in five starts last season which included success on his first two runs back, he can prove too strong for the promising TUTTI QUANTI.

Race 6 No6 MOVEIT LIKE MINNIE (Each Way)
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Thomas Bellamy

MOVEIT LIKE MINNIE can be a law unto himself at the business end of his races, having tried to run out on a couple of occasions. However he has plenty of ability, and his prospects are elevated by a close season breathing operation. The six times winner is value at his price at add to his laurels.

Race 7 No8 LANCELOT D’ALENE
Trainer: Paul Nicholls – Jockey: Harry Cobden

The Nicholls yard has dominated this bumper in recent years making LANCELOT D’ALENE one to respect on his debut under Rules. He went down by inches on his only run in a point, and with a first time tongue tie can outpoint an equally promising recruit in COOLTOBECARELESS.
