With just a win on Saturday against Chelsea, 2-1, the football streets have been buzzing, with many now believing Ruben Amorim has broken the curse.
Speaking on Sky Sports, former footballer and pundit Clinton Morrison believes Manchester United’s attack is finally starting to click.
“It’s all about getting three points. It doesn’t matter how you play when you’re under pressure, like Ruben Amorim is right now.
Their next games are against Brentford and Sunderland, and everyone expected them to lose this game against Chelsea because Chelsea have been in decent form recently. But as I said, credit them. It’s starting to click.”
He added, “They needed a spark, and they got that spark by beating a team like Chelsea, who I think will finish in the top four this season.”

In November 2024, Ruben Amorim was brought in to take over from Erik ten Hag, who was sacked due to the team’s inconsistent performances and failure to challenge and compete for major titles. Ten Hag managed to secure the FA Cup during his term at Old Trafford, but it wasn’t enough to satisfy the big boss at United.
With many being hopeful that the 40-year-old would make the team better. Things got worse, and United finished 15th place in the 2024-2025 season, their worst finish in many years.
At the end of the season, many players were bought, sold, or loaned out, some that Amorim didn’t even want. Even with these changes, the team is still struggling with its form, with football legend Roy Keane going as far as calling United “just an average team.”
As United continues to move up and down the Premier League table, they have played five matches this season, recording two wins, two losses, and one draw. The inconsistency has left fans frustrated and concerned about whether the team can find the stability needed to compete with the league’s top sides, with pressure boiling up for Amorim.
Amorim told the media that he still believes in his team and he wants urgency in his teammates because he expects a win against Brentford on Saturday at Gtech Community Stadium.
“It’s nice to win but let’s forget that and return to that urgency. We need to win the next game.”
