With whispers growing around Nkunku’s possible exit from Stamford Bridge, the Nerazzurri are closely monitoring the situation. The 27-year-old forward, who joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig for 52 million pounds just last year, has emerged as a prime target for the Italian champions – especially if Mehdi Taremi’s future leads him away from Milan.

Nkunku, who initially had a slow start to life at Chelsea due to injury setbacks, has recently begun to show glimpses of the form that made him one of Europe’s most exciting attacking talents in Germany. He played a key role in Chelsea’s Club World Cup run, starting both the quarter-final and semi-final wins, and has featured prominently in the Blues’ pre-season tour of the United States, including a well-taken goal against Benfica in a 4-1 extra-time victory.

Inter are believed to be targeting a more versatile forward to complement their existing attacking options, and Nkunku’s ability to play as a central striker, second forward, or attacking midfielder makes him an appealing candidate. His technical skill, intelligent movement, and creative flair fit the mold of Inter’s evolving style under manager Simone Inzaghi. While a move won’t be straightforward – Nkunku still has four years left on his contract – the player’s previous interest in a January switch to Bayern Munich suggests he may be open to a new challenge.

Much will depend on Chelsea’s willingness to negotiate, particularly given their recent strategy of trimming the squad while maintaining financial flexibility. If Nkunku signals a desire to leave and Inter can structure a financially viable offer, the deal could gain momentum quickly. For now, both clubs are keeping their cards close, but this is one to watch as the transfer window heats up.
