YARMOUTH
Race 5 No2 CATHEDRAL PEAK (Nap)
Trainer: Dylan Cunha – Jockey: Jim Crowley
CATHEDRAL PEAK put in a career best when going down narrowly at Bath in a race that has worked out. The Camelot filly has a top pilot doing the steering in a race she ticks all the boxes, and can spark a good day for her trainer.
Race 6 No5 LADY MARIKO
Trainer: Dylan Cunha – Jockey: Jim Crowley
Crowley has sound claims of bagging another success with LADY MARIKO for the same trainer. The daughter of Kameko continued her progression with victory on her debut for the stable at Wetherby last month. She looked visually good value for her success, and can overcome a 2lb rise in the weights.
CATTERICK BRIDGE
Race 1 No5 LANGHOLM (Each Way)
Trainer: Michael Dods – Jockey: Rhys Elliott
One of the more attractive bets of the day is veteran LANGHOLM in the opener. The nine-year-old troubled the judge in a better race at Thirsk last week but is now back on his favoured terrain, having posted three successes at this course. He was too high in the handicap when disappointing here earlier in the season, but is now back on a favourable mark, and well drawn to attack.
Race 3 No6 HANNEY GIRL (Nap)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan
HANNEY GIRL gained valuably experience of this sharp track last time and hails from a speedy family that her trainer has done well with. Granted normal progression on this third career start she can open her account.
Race 4 No1 MEDINILLA
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: Callum Rodriguez
Everything went wrong for MEDINILLA at Thirsk, when on a hot day the horses were down at the start for what seemed an eternity. The selection boiled over, and was always doing too much in the race itself. Prior to that she had delivered a couple of cosy successes, and if putting a line through that last run there’s every chance she will bounce back.
Race 5 No4 WANNABEAWALLABY
Trainer: Dylan Cunha – Jockey: David Egan
WANNABEAWALLABY has earned on his last four outings for a South African trainer getting the best out of his runners at the smaller tracks. The Australia gelding is going to find this stamina test just his cup of tea.
FFOS LAS
Race 4 No10 WHATCOMBE
Trainer: Ollie Cole – Jockey: David Probert
WHATCMBE can prove a wholly appropriate first winner for Ollie Cole in a maiden that might not take much winning. Named after the trainer’s historic yard on the Oxfordshire/Berkshire border, the Camelot gelding wasn’t beaten far on a better race at Newbury after posting a near miss at the same track on his second of as many starts as a juvenile. Furthermore, he has Chepstow’s leading jockey doing the steering.
Race 6 No2 BLACK SMOKE
Trainer: Robbie Llewellyn – Jockey: Edward Greatrex
Though he lacks consistency, a chance is taken on BLACK SMOKE to come away with the spoils. The selection stayed on strongly to score at Chepstow last week, while his jockey is making the most of his chances.
KEMPTON PARK
Race 3 No12 SEA OF KINGS (Nap)
Trainer: Harry Eustace – Jockey: James Doyle
Kingman colt Skimmer carries a penalty for his Leicester success, and while he should go well I think SEA OF KINGS can take his measure. A gamble on the selection went west at Chepstow, but he’s learned from that experience, and can open his account.
Race 7 No4 BOLD SUITOR
Trainer: Craig Benton – Jockey: Georgie Dobie
Veteran BOLS SUITOR greatly impressed with the way he streaked away from his opponents at Wolverhampton last month. He’s been handed a 9lb hike in the weights for his troubles, but from a plum draw he can follow-up. From the opposition, Just Typical seeks a third triumph in his last four starts and looks the main threat.
