BRIGHTON

Race 1 No1 TOUSSAROK
Trainer: Tony Carroll – Jockey: Jack Doughty

Brighton’s leading trainer Carroll can take out the opener with TOUSSAROK, who is seeking a third success at the seaside venue on just his fourth visit. He relished a return to grass when scoring at the beginning of the month, securing a first success since his move to Carroll which can now be backed up.

Race 3 No2 DARK SUN (Nap)
Trainer: James Bennett – Jockey: Laura Coughlan

Not without her training issues, DARK SUN has progressed from race to race this season and put in a career best when chasing home a well backed winner at Lingfield. The Dark Angel filly looked all over the winner when leading inside the final furlong, only to be mugged in the last couple of strides. She’s shown she can handle an undulating course, and is the only horse in the field with scope for progression.

Race 6 No1 TEA SEA
Trainer: Tony Carroll – Jockey: William Carson

TEA SEA has embarked on three of his four turf outings on this terrain where his record includes a couple of near misses. The Southwell specialist is undoubtedly more effective on sand, but after going close on his latest visit here last month can get the better of the equally well fancied PIETRO.

LINGFIELD PARK

Race 2 No3 EDVARD GRIEG (Nap)
Trainer: Dylan Cunha – Jockey: Morgan Cole

EDVARD GRIEG has in his last two starts when racing on faster ground found his comfort zone. He has shown he can handle an undulating track, and at Beverley last time impressed with the way he quickened clear, making him the best bet on this card racing off his revised mark.

Race 3 No4 SMITH (Each Way)
Trainer: Lydia Richards – Jockey: Rab Havlin

Hold up horse SMITH has been selectively campaigned this year, and when out of the money on his latest outing at this track ran better than his placing indicates. The seven times course winner can swoop to conquer providing he gets a decent pace to aim at.

PONTEFRACT

Race 5 No5 ANALOGICAL (Nap)
Trainer: Sir Mark Prescott – Jockey: Paul Mulrennan

With blinkers added for the first time, ANALOGICAL can return to winning ways. Like many three-year-olds from Heath House, the Ulysses gelding greatly improved for a step up in trip to score on his reappearance at Beverley. Though denied on two subsequent outings at Redcar and Doncaster he’s strongly fancied to take the spoils and Mulrennan is an eye taking booking for him.

Race 7 No3 A GIRL NAMED IVY (Each Way)
Trainer: Michael Dods – Jockey: Sean Kirrane

From her berth against the fence A GIRL NAMED IVY can earn in another open affair. She signalled with a seasonal best effort at Wetherby that her turn is fast approaching, and can make this a first success in just under a year, having delivered over course and distance on that occasion.

UTTOXETER

Race 2 No7 LET’S SAIL AWAY
Trainer: Tom Lacey – Jockey: Stan Sheppard

LET’S SAIL AWAY opened his account when last seen at Market Rasen in May, where on his sixth start he landed some good bets. It marked a big improvement on any of his previous efforts, and suggests he will pay his way over fences and go well today, even though this is a competitive affair.

Race 4 No6 KITESURFER
Trainer: Jamie Snowden – Jockey: Gavin Sheehan

KITESURFER brings very solid form to the table courtesy of three successes from only seven appearances over the last two summers. He’s going through a bountiful streak, and though his last two near misses have proved costly from a betting perspective, he can recoup the losses with interest tonight.

Race 6 No3 CRYSTAL MER (Nap)
Trainer: Hughie Morrison – Jockey: Sean Bowen

CRYSTAL MER was backed as if defeat was out of the question when debuting for Morrison over this course and distance last month. He has his tail up, and with a renewed spring in his step can gain back-to-back victories.
