While no official contact has yet been made with the Premier League club, Diaz is reportedly one of several players on Bayern’s shortlist this summer.

The 28-year-old Colombian has also attracted interest from Barcelona and Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr. Barcelona’s approach earlier this month was turned down, while Al Nassr are monitoring the situation but have yet to formalize an offer.

Diaz, currently on international duty with Colombia at the Copa America, has made it clear that he remains happy at Liverpool and is under no pressure to force a move. With two years left on his contract, the forward says he’s open to staying at Anfield – unless an exceptional opportunity arises.

“I’m very, very happy in Liverpool. From day one, they’ve made me feel really welcome,” Diaz told reporters. “Right now we’re in contact with them because we’re speaking with (other) clubs. It’s normal-the market is open.

If Liverpool doesn’t make a good offer, I still have two years left, and I’d be happy to stay. Everything depends on them, but it’s also up to me to decide what’s best for my future.”

Diaz played a pivotal role in Liverpool’s title-winning 2024–25 campaign, registering 13 goals and five assists in all competitions. His direct style, creativity, and work rate have made him a fan favourite since his arrival from FC Porto in January 2022 in a deal worth up to 49 million pounds.

Since joining the Reds, he has racked up 41 goals in 148 appearances and helped the club lift the Premier League, FA Cup, and two League Cups.

For Bayern, the pursuit of Diaz is part of a broader effort to refresh their attack under new head coach Vincent Kompany. With long-time winger Leroy Sane entering the final year of his contract and uncertainty around other wide options, the German giants are exploring versatile, high-impact forwards capable of making an immediate difference.

At this stage, Diaz remains a target rather than an active negotiation. But with interest from multiple clubs and Diaz himself open to evaluating his options, his situation could develop quickly as the transfer window progresses.
