SALISBURY
Race 1 No5 TOO DARN GOOD (Nap)
Trainer: Charlie Hills – Jockey: Rob Hornby
TOO DARN GOOD shaped better than his placing suggests when very easy to back on debut at Bath. He was picking up the thread in the closing stages and can improve on that, granted he is by Too Darn Hot out of a mare who was a prolific winner.
Race 2 No10 SINJ
Trainer: Richard Hannon – Jockey: Sean Levey
Another produce of Too Darn Hot, SINJ brings solid credentials to the table having troubled the judge in each of her visits to Chepstow. This move up to 1200 metres couldn’t have come soon enough for her, and she’s primed to open her account.
Race 3 No1 STRIKE
Trainer: Jonny Portman – Jockey: Rob Hornby
STRIKE has knocked on the door since returning to turf and can recapture the form level that saw the grey gain back-to-back successes at this time last year. While six visits to this track since 2021 have not yielded a victory, this race looks set up for him to break that trend.
Race 6 No9 CLUB CLASS
Trainer: James Fanshawe – Jockey: Daniel Muscutt
Frankel filly CLUB CLASS hails from a family her trainer knows all about, and after a couple of earning runs in novices this season can show further progression now unleashed into a handicap. She meets some equally in-form opponents, but if close to her paper price is well worth supporting
WOLVERHAMPTON
Race 4 No6 SECOND COLLECTION (Nap)
Trainer: Tony Carroll – Jockey: Jack Doughty
SECOND COLLECTION made a rare visit to turf when making the podium at Brighton, and now returns to her favourite all-weather track in good order and fancied to post a first success since before Christmas.
Race 7 No2 BLUE TRAIN
Trainer: William Knight – Jockey: Brandon Wilkie
BLUE TRAIN’s form in four 2025 outings has been a shade in and out, but this speedily bred individual looks worth chancing on the basis of two earning efforts at Windsor, while as this is only his second run on sand there should be more to come.
FONTWELL PARK
Race 2 No5 RYDER’S ROCK (Nap)
Trainer: Joe Tizzard – Jockey: Freddie Gingell
Tizzard’s first of two good winning chances is RYDER’S ROCK. The mare was having a first outing in six months, and first over fences, when delivering in good style at Newton Abbot last month. It was also her first outing after a breathing operation, and it’s paved the way for further success in this new discipline.
Race 4 No4 BELGARUM
Trainer: Joe Tizzard – Jockey: Freddie Gingell
Shirocco gelding BELGARUM is a pea out of the same pod by way of his recent victory at Newton Abbot happening after a wind op. It’s opened the door for further pickings from the seven-year-old during the summer jumps season.
Race 6 No3 TREVOR’S LAD
Trainer: Toby Lawes – Jockey: Kevin Brogan
TREVOR’S LAD has earned in two of three visits to this figure-of-eight course, latterly on his first run of the season last month. While he’s proving difficult to win with, he may have the fortitude to buck that trend, and at the main expense of Coup De Gold.
CATTERICK BRIDGE
Race 5 No8 HIGHFIELD SUNSHINE (Nap)
Trainer: John Quinn – Jockey: Jason Hart
This looks a tough card for wagering but an exception is HIGHFIELD SUNSHINE. The daughter of Mehmas is getting to know the rudiments of racing, and after near misses at Thirsk and this track is well placed to make her switch into a handicap a winning experience.
