Preview: 2025 WTA Tour WTA 500 Queen’s Club Championships The Queen’s Club, London, United Kingdom (Outdoor Grass) Round of 32 Matches – Emma Radacanu vs Cristina Busca

Emma Radacanu will look to get her grass-court season off to a solid start in her round of 32 meeting with Cristina Busca. The 2021 US Open champion has endured her fair share of struggles over the last few years, battling dips in form and terrible injury issues (she also had to deal with the emotional toll of a deranged stalker).

Selected Round of 32 Matches- 10th June

Emma Radacanu 0.3 vs Cristina Busca 2.4

She has enjoyed a few promising runs this year, reaching a maiden WTA 1000 run in Miami. She is also fresh off her best clay-court season to date, winning three successive clay-court matches for the first time in Rome. She had the misfortune of running into an inspired Iga Swiatek in the 2nd round of the French Open. Radacanu has shown true grass-court promise in her young career, reaching the 4th round of Wimbledon in two of her last three appearances.

Spaniard Cristina Busca has struggled for tour-level victories this season, coming into this event on a four-match tour-level losing streak. Busca hits the ball fairly flat but doesn’t generate too much power. She has enjoyed much more success in double’s tennis (she actually won last week in Birmingham). So, she will come into this match with a little bit of recent grass-court tennis under her belt. Furthermore, she has gone beyond the first round in each of her last two Wimbledon appearances.

The Verdict: Radacanu to win in straight sets at 0.75– Busca leads the head-to-head 1-0, coming back from a set down to beat the Brit at this year’s Singapore Open. To be fair, Radacanu was in the midst of a low spell when they met in Singapore. She has looked far more composed of late and should have far too much quality for the nuggetty Spaniard (especially on skiddy grass surfaces).
