CATTERICK BRIDGE

Race 1 No13 VARIETY ISLAND (Each Way)
Trainer: Simon Whitaker – Jockey: Mason Paetel

VARIETY ISLAND is an infrequent winner, but after knocking on wood on her return to the turf on seasonal reappearance at Redcar she has a good chance to go one better at a price. Her chances are boosted by a handy on slot on the rail.

Race 6 No1 SPRING CHORUS (Nap)
Trainer: Michael Herrington – Jockey: Shane Gray

SPRING CHORUS made a winning start for Herrington and landed some good bets in the process at Beverley. The mare races at the same level over the identical distance and just needs to show she can handle this totally different track on a first visit here.

Race 7 No10 LANGHOLM (Each Way)
Trainer: Michael Dods – Jockey: Connor Beasley

Course specialist LANGHOLM is carded to start as one of the roughies in the finale but it could be unwise to rule him out. The veteran has had a couple of sighters on which he was in need of the outing and poorly drawn. But today Beasley is back in the irons, while the combination break from the advantaged rail, and could take some catching.

SOUTHWELL

Race 3 No6 QUEENSWORTHY
Trainer: Dan Skelton – Jockey: Harry Skelton

QUEENSWORTHY makes her debut under Rules after finishing in the frame in her only point. Operating for top connections who make few mistakes in these bumpers, she can take the spoils.

Race 4 No3 BRINDLEY
Trainer: Phil Neville – Jockey: Brian Hughes

BRINDLEY showed promise in a short career with Jack Channon and has made the podium on three of his four hurdling starts with Neville. He was forced wide and lost ground on his first run in a handicap at Perth, and with Hughes in the saddle has a good chance to open his account.

WINDSOR

Race 3 No4 FANTASY WORLD (Nap)
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: Oisin Murphy

FANTASY WORLD troubled the judge on his return to action at this course in what was an eye taking performance. The Make Believe gelding will be more streetwise, and can open his account as he moves up to a more suitable mile and a quarter.

Race 4 No6 REGAL ENVOY
Trainer: William Knight – Jockey: Rossa Ryan

REGAL ENVOY made it three wins from his last four starts at the Newmarket Craven meeting and this progressive individual can further state his case as a horse to follow. He’s gone up in the weights but with Rossa Ryan in the saddle appeals as a worthy favourite.

Race 6 No4 SIR EDWARD LEAR
Trainer: James Owen – Jockey: Ray Dawson

Beauld As Brass is seeking to clinch a nap hand of successes but one that can cause him problems is SIR EDWARD LEAR. The Ripon scorer is making just a third visit to the track and has done well physically and mentally since his last appearance at Redcar. Over the same trip but now in a handicap he can do a lot better.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 3 No3 KING KERNOW (Nap)
Trainer: Stan Moore – Jockey: Billy Loughnane

KING KERNOW ran well in defeat on his seasonal return in a maiden here to make it a third near miss on the bounce. The key to his chance tonight is a move up to a mile and three quarters, with Loughnane in his saddle. This is a poor card but he should win.
