Asked since he has now made this announcement, what are you hoping for in the last few weeks of Liverpool’s career?

The 26-year-old said he is hoping that they will continue to win games, and he knows this news will not sit well with a lot of people, but this should not be a sit-back, as he expects the team to carry on without him.

“I’m just hoping that we’re able to carry on winning games, the noise doesn’t take away from the fact of what we’ve achieved this season. It has been an amazing season, it has been amazing to be part of it and I just hope that everyone is able to maybe not dwell on this news for too long and be able to celebrate what the rest of the lads have done.

“Don’t let this cast a dark cloud over the season and let everyone celebrate what we’ve achieved as a club. And to enjoy the home and away games, the guards of honour, the celebrations, everything that comes with it. I’m hoping we’re able to celebrate it together.

“I know the news will take a bit of time to set in and people won’t be happy and they’ll be disappointed. At the end of the day, you can be angry and hurt at me but I just hope that the lads, the rest of the team, the staff, everyone else is able to feel how good a season this has been and able to feel the love and support from the fans as they have done all season,” said Alexander-Arnold.

Alexander-Arnold joined Liverpool’s academy at the age of 6, showcasing his football talent on the field and working hard on sharpening his skills.

He has won multiple trophies, including two Premier League titles and a Uefa Champions League. Making his debut at the age of 18, he made 352 appearances for his childhood club with 64 assists, which is more than any defender in Premier League history, and has been involved in creating 82 goals, second to Leighton Baines in his position.

Spending 20 years building and working towards success with a club is not Childs play, Alexander-Arnold expressed how he has sacrificed everything and has done everything within his power for the club to win and lift trophies.

That’s why when he broke the news he took it to social media so fans and supporters can hear it from him and not from second-hand sources . He continued to add he will always support the Reds, that’s in his DNA and the right time for him to move is now

“I’ve ever wanted, it has given me the opportunities to achieve everything beyond my wildest dreams. I can never repay enough of what’s been given to me and I don’t take it for granted at all.

“But, like I said, at the end of the day I did have to make a decision and it is one that has been very difficult. I just hope that people will be able to see and understand that I’ve given everything to the club, I’ve given everything every single day for 20 years now.

“I’ve sacrificed everything, I’ve done everything I’ve ever needed to do to try to help the team win games. And no matter what, that will never change. I’ll forever be a fan of the club, there’ll be no change in that. I’ll always be watching the games, I’ll be supporting from a distance.

“But in terms of a player at the club I think now is the right time for me to move on and challenge myself elsewhere.

And that Elsewhere is rumored to Real Madrid as both parties have reached a verbal agreement. Former German footballer Didi Hamann believes the only reason why Alexander-Arnold wants to sign to Real Madrid is because he wants to win a Ballon d’Or.

“If winning the Ballon d’Or is the reason that he wants to join Real Madrid, he should forget it and stay at Liverpool!”.

Alexander-Arnold’s last Premier League game will be on May 25 against Crystal palace where he will be expected to bow out in style at the Anfield Stadium.
