McLaren’s Lando Norris has said he feels revitalized after a much-needed break following the intense triple-header, as the team prepare for the Miami GP.
The event holds special significance for Norris, who secured his maiden Formula 1 victory at the Miami International Autodrome last season.
After the Chinese Grand Prix, Norris and McLaren took advantage of a rare week-long gap in the schedule to return to their Woking headquarters. The team focused on simulator work and analyzed critical data to fine-tune their approach for the upcoming race.
The break, which followed a demanding sequence of races in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and China, allowed Norris to recharge, a luxury he had previously said was lacking after the Bahrain opener.
“It’s been good to recharge after a busy triple-header, but we’re excited to get back in the car, especially in Miami,” Norris said. “It’s where I won my first F1 race, so this place is special to me.
“The fans here also bring a great atmosphere, so we’re looking forward to seeing all the papaya in the stands.”
The Miami Grand Prix, the sixth round of the 2025 season, is a Sprint weekend, offering additional points-scoring opportunities.
Norris, aiming to close the gap to teammate Oscar Piastri in the standings, emphasized the team’s preparation. “Last week, we were back at the MTC, working in the sim to prepare for Miami,” he added. “It should be another strong weekend, bring it on!”
McLaren are eager to capitalize on their momentum at the 5.412-kilometer circuit set within the Hard Rock Stadium complex in Miami Gardens.
As the 57-lap race approaches, all eyes are on Norris and McLaren to see if their strategic reset can deliver a standout performance in Miami’s electric atmosphere.
