PLUMPTON
Race 3 No4 UGO BINGO (Nap)
Trainer: Joe Tizzard – Jockey: Brendan Powell
UGO BINGO is a relatively new recruit for the Tizzard’s who ran well on his first outing for the stable at Fontwell and will probably have more to offer in this match up with My Friend Sean.
Race 5 No7 HANSARD (Each Way)
Trainer: Gary Moore – Jockey: Niall Houlihan
The featured Sussex Champion Hurdle can see HANSARD raising his game to get into the shake-up. It’s a bit worrying that he didn’t fire at the Cheltenham and Aintree Festivals, but he remains a horse with abundant talent, and on this return to the minimum trip can use it effectively against the Mullins challenge of DADDY LONG LEGS, ABSURDE, SIR GERHARD and TOUNSIVATOR.
Race 6 No5 SIAM PARK
Trainer: Joe Tizzard – Jockey: Brendan Powell
SIAM PARK is beginning to line up to his early career promise, and after jumping well in each of his two triumphs over fences at Taunton and Stratford can now use this good opening to put the icing on the cake and complete a hat-trick.
Race 7 No5 MR FREEDOM (Each Way)
Trainer: Sheena West – Jockey: Marc Goldstein
Handicap hurdle debutant Mr Escobar will be hard to beat for Mullins but I fancy MR FREEDOM to give the favourite a run for his money. The selection hasn’t had his favoured better ground until now, and has become well treated.
BATH
Race 4 No5 MISS ATTITUDE (Each Way)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: Charles Bishop
MISS ATTITUDE has developed into a real powerhouse and could earn at a decent price in this 1000 metres sprint. The mare had everything fall right for her 2hen coming from last to first at Southwell but the cards didn’t fall her way at Newcastle last time. There should be plenty of pace on as she returns to turf.
Race 6 No9 PEACE FIRST (Each Way)
Trainer: Denis Coakley – Jockey: George Bass
A speculative choice is newcomer PEACE FIRST, who is a well related individual by Adaay and home bred by her owner. While she will benefit from the outing it’s worth giving her a market check, and her dam was a good servant to her connections.
Race 7 No4 YELLOW CARD
Trainer: Ollie Sangster – Jockey: Millie Wonnacott
Running for the first time in a handicap, YELLOW CARD could be the route to goal. She upped her game to make a frame finish when last seen at Wolverhampton and his bred to appreciate today’s switch to sand.
MARKET RASEN
Race 5 No1 PITTSBURG (Nap)
Trainer: Ryan Potter – Jockey: Callum Pritchard
Course and distance scorer PITTSBURG then won at Hereford and is in the form of his life trying to hunt down a hat-trick of successes. He’s up 7lb for his latest win, but looked to have at least as much in hand, getting stronger as the race went on.
SOUTHWELL
Race 3 No4 LHEBAYEB (Nap)
Trainer: Richard Price – Jockey: Callum Shepherd
LHEBAYEB has posted his best form figures over this terrain and should be comfortable operating at the bottom tier of the handicap spectrum. He’s been in very food form for his connections, and can outpoint Lednikov.
Race 7 No6 YOSHIMI
Trainer: Michael Herrington – Jockey: Andrea Pinna
YOSHIMI is 2lb higher than when inching home over course and distance last time and now finds himself in a tougher race. He still makes abundant appeal, as he’s enjoyed a freshening break, while he’s been handed a cracking draw.
