FONTWELL PARK

Race 5 No2 TOMMY THE TANK
Trainer: Dr Richard Newland – Jockey: Charlie Hammond

Point winner TOMMY THE TANK has his tail up after making all for a comfortable first success over hurdles at Hereford. He’s now in a competitive handicap, but with few miles on his racing clock there could be more to come.

Race 6 No3 COPPER COVE (Nap)
Trainer: Jonjo O’Neill – Jockey: Jonjo O’Neill Jr

Runners from Jackdaw’s Castle should always be respected here, which adds weight to the claims of COPPER COVE. He was a course and distance winner last season, and signalled with his first earning effort of the current campaign here three weeks ago that he’s on the cusp of a return to the winners’ circle.

LINGFIELD PARK

Race 2 No5 SPOILT
Trainer: Laura Mongan – Jockey: Josephine Gordon

Without Parole filly SPOILT raised her game when qualifying for a mark when placed in a course and distance maiden. Having enjoyed a freshening break, there’s every chance that she will have more to offer in what looks a weak heat.

Race 6 No8 MISS MOONSHINE
Trainer: Rod Millman – Jockey: Hollie Doyle

MISS MOONSHINE has knocked on the door on each of her last three outings and is fancied to make this a first success in exactly a year. A dual scorer at the course, she has the advantage of breaking from the rail in this 1200 metres sprint.

Race 7 No6 TADREEB (Nap)
Trainer: Rod Millman – Jockey: Oliver Searle

From the same stable, TADREEB can return to winning ways now back at his favourite hunting ground. He rattled off a quick fire hat-trick here in January, and thought found wanting on his last two starts in Class4s was far from disgraced. His cause is also assisted by the rail draw.

WETHERBY

Race 2 No4 TAMAR BRIDGE (Nap)
Trainer: Olly Murphy – Jockey: Beau Morgan

Selling hurdles are an all too rare commodity and it’s therefore unfortunate that this race has attracted only four runners. The one to be on is TAMAR BRIDGE, for whom big things were hoped for until he went onto the injury list. He came back to run a cracker at Uttoxeter, is a course and distance winner and only needs to be a shadow of his former self to take the spoils.

Race 3 No4 RUMOURSAREFLYING
Trainer: Pam Sly – Jockey: Paul O’Brien

RUMOURSAREFLYING suffered a heavy fall here three starts back when appearing to be travelling best. He’s bounced back with a couple of solid earning efforts, and has a very good chance to post an overdue first triumph.

Race 4 No2 JACOVEC CAVERN
Trainer: P Hennessy – Jockey: Danny Mullins

JACOVEC CAVERN is a fascinating runner from Ireland for whom a market watch is strongly advised. He’s contested some very competitive handicap hurdles at home, and was six lengths clear when falling at the last on his latest outing at Cork. He’s been raised 6lb but could easily be too good for his foes in the best race on this card.

SOUTHWELL

Race 2 No6 WONDER
Trainer: James Fanshawe – Jockey: Dylan Hogan

Masar gelding WONDER has proved a good earner for his connections with the only blip on his record coming when he got injured at Newmarket. That necessitated more than a year off, but since returning on the all-weather he’s won twice and hit the podium on his other three starts. His latest offering saw him gamely fight back after being headed to score over this course and distance.

Race 3 No7 LADY VIVIAN (Nap)
Trainer: Ralph Beckett – Jockey: Hector Crouch

LADY VIVIAN to beat Kintbury is the way this fillies’ maiden should pan out. The Nap seemed to relish making a big step up in trip when second to odds-on Tribal Act here at the end of last month with the principals pulling clear. The daughter of Camelot stretches out to a mile and a half tonight, and should have the bases covered.

Race 6 No4 DOWN TO THE KID
Trainer: Michael Herrington – Jockey: Tom Eaves

This should be a case of third time lucky for DOWN TO THE KID, who has posted all three of his career successes at this course and been campaigned exclusively here since joining Herrington. Importantly, his last two efforts have resulted in narrow defeats, adding weight to the belief that the chestnut has benefited from a breathing operation.
