Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy may secure a long-term contract to remain at the club, even if a potential Qatari-backed takeover goes through.
Levy, who has been in charge since 2001, is the longest-serving chairman in the Premier League and has played a pivotal role in the club’s development.
Spurs are currently valued at 3.75 billion pounds, and private individuals from Qatar have shown interest in acquiring the club.
However, this interest is not linked to Qatar Sports Investment (QSI), which owns Paris Saint-Germain, or Sheikh Jassim, who previously attempted to purchase Manchester United.
Other potential investors from the US and the Middle East are also keeping an eye on the situation.
Despite this, Tottenham are not currently engaged in takeover negotiations. However, plans are reportedly being made for a phased buyout should an acceptable offer materialize.
Levy’s tenure has seen significant infrastructure improvements, including the construction of the state-of-the-art Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and investment in training facilities.
However, his leadership has been a point of contention among supporters. Fans have criticized him for a perceived lack of investment in the squad, with Tottenham securing just one League Cup trophy during his 24-year reign. Chants of “Levy out” have become common among home and away supporters.
