LINGFIELD PARK

Race 1 No6 PRESENTING DOY
Trainer: Emma Lavelle – Jockey: Harry Cobden

Miss Kassiopi brings solid form to the table and should again trouble the judge, but having had a few chances she’s worth opposing with PRESENTING DOY. The selection claimed a cheque on her first run of the season at Warwick and finds herself in a weaker race, with champion jockey Cobden an eye taking booking.

Race 2 No3 PLEASINGTON
Trainer: Olly Murphy – Jockey: Sean Bowen

PLEASINGTON impressed with the way he picked up to foil an odds-on foe at Leicester and is very much the go-to horse in his bid to follow-up. He retains the hood he wore for the first time for that defeat of Atlantic Lad, and can prove too strong for Peacenik.

Race 5 No5 PILSDON PEN (Nap)
Trainer: Jeremy Scott – Jockey: Lorcan Williams

If PILSDON PEN is ready after a break of over a year he should prove very hard to beat in this two and a half mile handicap chase. The eight-year-old took to fences like a duck to water following a breathing operation to record figures of 3121 and showed a particular liking for Wincanton. This is his first visit to Lingfield, but he should enjoy the track and the underfoot conditions.

Race 6 No3 DOUBLE OBAN
Trainer: Olly Murphy – Jockey: Lewis Saunders

DOUBLE OBAN always looked like a jumper in the making when running on the Flat. The five-year-old has shown that to be the case by scoring twice and earning in each of his other three outings over hurdles, latterly inching home under his conditional rider at Market Rasen.

AYR

Race 3 No1 ARTIC ROW (Nap)
Trainer: Nick Alexander – Jockey: Conor O’Farrell

Despite encountering issues with his jumping, ARTIC ROW looked assured at his fences in what proved a strange run at Newcastle in November. After taking a dramatic walk in the betting he loomed menacingly entering the home straight, and though ultimately denied put in a very good and assured effort. This strong traveller is very interesting on his return to the fray following a mid season break.

Race 4 No5 JEUNE PRINCE
Trainer: Lucinda Russell – Jockey: Patrick Wadge

Pour Les Fillies has to be respected on his journey from Ireland but JEUENE PRINCE could give him something to think about at longer odds. The selection has made the podium on each of his three outings over hurdles and ran well against the useful Al Kalila over this course and distance last time.

Race 5 No1 SUNNYVILLA
Trainer: Nicky Richards – Jockey: Danny McMenamin

There was much to like about the way SUNNYVILLA delivered on a first outing out of Greystoke at Haydock before Christmas. The gelding relished the testing conditions to show a change of scenery had done him the power of good, and though the handicapper has had his say he’s fancied to back it up.

Race 8 No2 GINTIME
Trainer: Nicky Richards – Jockey: Danny McMenamin

GINTIME made a pleasing start to her career when second at Carlisle and could prove the answer to a well contested mares’ bumper. Her main barrier to success will probably stem from Kenisa Sport, who showed promise in points ahead of this first outing under Rules.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 8 No8 SECOND COLLECTION (Each Way)
Trainer: Tony Carroll – Jockey: Luke Morris

SECOND COLLECTION let out a strong hint that she’s on the cusp of a first success of the year when second at Lingfield last week. Now returned to the only all-weather track where she’s won, she has a good chance to go one better.

Race 9 No4 WONDER (Nap)
Trainer: James Fanshawe – Jockey: Dylan Hogan

WONDER has been only an occasional visitor to the racecourse in the last year, but there is plenty to recommend the chestnut on his three performances on sand. Having opened his account here in November he troubled the judge in a first handicap assignment at Newcastle, then came up against a doughty foe when second to Roaring Legend back here in early January. The ploy to move him up the distance ladder race by race appears to be working, although he’s back to a mile and a half this evening.
