This win has propelled the Red Devils into the last 16 of the competition, maintaining their unbeaten run.

The match began with FCSB, known for their formidable home record, putting early pressure on United.

However, after Mihai Popescu missed a close chance from a set-piece, Manchester United took control.

Kobbie Mainoo, the 19-year-old midfielder, had two notable opportunities in the first half but couldn’t convert them into goals.

Ruben Amorim, reflecting on the game, praised his team’s performance. “I think we controlled the game very well,” he said. “We had more possession, so we had more time to think and connect the plays.”

The second half saw United step up their game. Amorim’s tactical substitutions paid off when Alejandro Garnacho nearly scored immediately after coming on.

The breakthrough came on the hour mark when Diogo Dalot scored from a well-executed move off a throw-in.

Mainoo then doubled the lead ten minutes later, capitalizing on a pass from Garnacho.

Amorim further commented on the performance, highlighting the team’s strategy. “Kobbie played very well in that position, with more freedom… The lads did a good job – another clean sheet. We created chances, but we have to score more goals.”

Despite their dominance, United’s only criticism was their inefficiency in front of goal. However, two goals were enough to secure the victory, leaving FCSB to settle for a spot in the knockout play-offs.

This result marks Manchester United’s fourth consecutive win in the Europa League, making them the only team to go through the league phase without a loss.

This victory not only underscores United’s tactical prowess under Amorim but also highlights the young talents like Mainoo stepping up in crucial moments.

As United prepares for the next round, fans are eager to see if this form can translate into deeper runs in both domestic and European competitions.
