HEREFORD
Race 2 No1 PADDY IN THE CADDY (Nap)
Trainer: Philip Hobbs – Jockey: Sean Houlihan
On his second start over fences PADDY IN THE CADDY delivered at Warwick last week. His trainer looks to have spotted a good opportunity for him to put in an action relay in this two miler, as despite carrying a 7lb penalty he’s very much the form horse in the contest.
Race 5 No3 ANY BISCUITS
Trainer: Harry Derham – Jockey: Paul O’Brien
If ANY BISCUITS improves on his fine run n defeat following a protracted lay off at Stratford he should return to winning ways, with prospects of improving his alteady good record since joining his trainer. He needs to avoid the bounce factor, but if doing so can go one better, and at the main expense of Don Rafael.
Race 7 No4 KASHMIR DE CORTON
Trainer: Tom George – Jockey: Harry Cobden
Whilst support for Kefir D’Oudaries would not be a surprise, at longer odds I like the look of KASHMIR DE CORTON to provide Tom George with a welcome winner. The selection has moved from George’s son Noel in France, while Cobden is an eye taking booking for him.
MARKET RASEN
Race 3 No3 SADLER’S BAY
Trainer: Tom Gretton – Jockey: David Noonan
SADLER’S BAY put together a sequence of earning efforts last season and although unable to win, could put the record straight on this seasonal return. The seven-year-old has recorded his best form since being sent chasing, and should be the one that gives paper favourite Camino Rocio most to think about.
Race 4 No2 HARBOUR LAKE (Nap)
Trainer: Alan King – Jockey: Tom Cannon
HARBOUR LAKE looked better the further he travelled when scoring at Aintree earlier in the month and remains a horse to be interested in under a 6lb hike in the weights. With his stable amongst the winners the gelding can consolidate.I date n the performance to repel Supreme Gift.
Race 6 No3 PERCY VEERING
Trainer: Kim Bailey – Jockey: Thomas Bellamy
The ability to run well after a lay off should assist PERCY VEERING who was on the mark on last season’s reappearance before going on to land a hat-trick. The Bailey chasers are generally 8n good order, and I’d ready for this the seven-year-old can prove too much of a handful for recent Ayr scorer Pat’s Dream.
WETHERBY
Race 2 No3 SKYCUTTER (Nap)
Trainer: Dan Skelton – Jockey: Harry Skelton
Though easy to back, SKYCUTTER made the well regarded Rambo T fight for the spoils on a most encouraging first run over fences at Warwick. Listed placed on the Flat, the six-year-old has earned in all but one of his races since join8ng the Skeltons but the best of him should be seen over fences, with this a good opportunity on a track that should suit him.
Race 5 No1 SENOR LOMBARDY
Trainer: Nicky Richards – Jockey: Conor Rabbit
New recruit to Greystoke SENOR LOMBARDY is worth monitoring for a market move in this stayers’ handicap chase. Interestingly, he showed good form for his previous trainer including a fifth place finish in the St James’s Place Hunters’ Chase at the 2022 Cheltenham Festival. His lengthy absence since that run is a source of worry, but despite entering the veteran stage it would be no surprise if he’s in the shake-up.
Race 6 No9 QUEENOFTHEJUKEBOX
Trainer: Noel Williams – Jockey: Gavin Sheehan
QUEENOFTHEJUKEBOX troubled the judge in a competitive bumper on her first run back at Aintree which is the best form on offer in the finale. Her trainer has a good record with this type of individual, and another run close or better than that should be enough to see her open her account.
