ASCOT

Race 3 No1 CENTIC DINO (Nap)
Trainer: Sam Thomas – Jockey: Dylan Johnston

The most interesting horse on view at this meeting is undoubtedly CELTIC DINO, who having impressed on his first outing over hurdles at Wincanton can now take another step up the class ladder. Winner of two of his three starts in bumpers last season, his recent success is working out well, while his connections are right to think he could be a proper Supreme Novices’ Hurdle candidate.

Race 4 No2 TERRESITA
Trainer: Lucy Wadham – Jockey: Gavin Sheehan

TERRESITA is the only mare against males in this two and threequarter mile handicap chase but she looks the one to be on. Having looked the likely winner when falling on her final start last season at Sandown, she comes here with her tail up following a clear cut success in Listed company at Carlisle. She’s competing off her highest mark, but should be good enough to repel the challenge of NOCTE VOLATUS.

Race 5 No1 AURIGNY MILL (Each Way)
Trainer: Robert Walford – Jockey: Harry Kimber

It might be a mistake to ignore the claims of AURIGNY MILL in spite of his welter burden. He was most impressive on his first run for the Walford stable at Newbury when coming home unchallenged, and even though higher in the weights is in the frame of mind to keep up the good work.

Race 6 No1 REGATTA DE BLANC
Trainer: Paul Nicholls – Jockey: Freddie Gingell

REGATTA DE BLANC left many backers with burned fingers when making a first outing out of Ditcheat and finishing third at Chepstow. On reflection that hurdling assignment might not have seen the prolific point and hunter-chase winner in the best light, and she can raise her game now switched to chasing, at a track where the emphasis is on sound jumping.

CHEPSTOW

Race 1 No7 SEETOIT
Trainer: Kim Bailey – Jockey: Thomas Bellamy

SEETOIT underwhelmed on a first run under Rules when finishing in the ruck at this course last month, despite attracting notable support in the betting ring. The former promising bumper performer can however put that blip behind him, as he’s very well regarded by his trainer, whose horses are starting to hit a rich vein of form.

Race 2 No4 JUST OVER LAND
Trainer: Sam Thomas- Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies

JUST OVER LAND served his connections well with a sequence of earning efforts last season, while jumping well on his first outing over fences on return to the fray at Ffos Las. This neat, nimble individual has benefitted from that first run back, and can again get into the argument.

Race 3 No1 WINDSURFER
Trainer: Ben Case – Jockey: Jack Quinlan

WINDSURFER could be named the winner a long way from home at Uttoxeter for which he reappears under a 7lb penalty. That was only his fourth outing under Rules, and entitles him to progress for his clash with Byzantium and The Winslow Boy.

Race 4 No1 RANGE (Nap)
Trainer: Sam Thomas – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies

On a big day for the Thomas stable RANGE can take aim and deliver. He appeared to be going perfectly well when exiting on his first run over fences here and that effort could be boosted if the winner Nocte Volatus runs well at Ascot.

Race 5 No11 PETTY CASH
Trainer: Henry Daly – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies

PETTY CASH steps into new territory trip-wise which should boost his chances on this first run back after a breathing operation. The lightly-raced selection ran well when last seen at Stratford in the spring, while his stable could hardly be in better form.

NEWCASTLE

Race 7 No6 BOWMAN
Trainer: David Brooke – Jockey: Sam James

BOWMAN is proving a consistent earner with his latest connections and would be a deserving winner after knocking on the door on each of his last four outings. His chance will improve should he be able to dominate.

Race 8 No8 MUDDY LYNN (Nap)
Trainer: Seb Spencer – Jockey: Alex Jary

Jary gave MUDDY LYNN a canny ride when the combination scored over 1200 metres here last month. The mare should be equally at home stretching out to seven furlongs and can defy a 4lb higher mark.
