SURREY QUEST, Cheltenham, November 17th

SURREY QUEST saved the best until last in this long distance handicap chase, in which for most of the journey he appeared to be hunted round in rear. His pilot asked him to close the gap on the leaders running down the hill and the combination picked up to finish strongly, suggesting he will have greatly benefitted from the experience.

PARTY VIBES, Bangor-On-Dee, November 13th

PARTY VIBES jumped beautifully against You Wear It Well and paid the penalty as she weakened in the closing stages as Shecouldbeanything took the honours. For a partnership headed by former champion jockey Richard Johnson this strapping individual shouldn’t be long before opening her account over fences.

PIC ROC, Carlisle, November 11th

PIC ROC jumped two fences well before overjumping at the third and paying the penalty. It was a soft exit for this talented jumper who can show himself to be one of his trainer’s best prospects, and should soon make amends.

THE CHANGING MAN, WINCANTON, November 9th

Having settled nicely in fourth off a red-hot gallop in this three miler, THE CHANGING MAN screwed at the last fence on the far side and paid the penalty. All hopes of him getting into the weights for Newbury’s Coral Trophy went up in smoke with the uncharacteristic error, but the gelding is none the worse for his spill. He’s been working well, and has a big handicap chase in him.

PUSH THE BUTTON, Cheltenham, October 25th

A winner of a bumper and two hurdles, PUSH THE BUTTON shaped with a deal of promise on this seasonal return, and first run in a handicap. She’s benefited from the outing and should be fine tuned for her next start for Nigel Twiston-Davies.
