England and Australia continue their white-ball only series as the ODI leg of the tour gets underway at Trent Bridge. These matches will serve as early preparation for the next ICC tournament which is the Champions Trophy in 2025.

The Nottingham ground usually presents a brilliant batting surface and with both sides big hitters, we could be in for a thriller.
Australia have played 10 ODIs at the ground winning five losing four and playing to a tie in the fixture in 1989. England have contested 36 ODIs in Nottingham with 18 wins to their name to go with 15 losses, two ties and a washout.
Jos Buttler will miss the forthcoming five-match ODI series against Australia due to a right calf strain.
Harry Brook has been named England’s stand-in captain for the ODI series against Australia after Buttler’s injury. Brook, has previously led Yorkshire in the T20 Blast and the Northern Superchargers in The Hundred, but this is his first time captaining England in any format.
England have been forced to make another team alteration, as Josh Hull is out with a quad injury. Hull, who made his debut for England in the third Test against Sri Lanka, impressed with three wickets in the first innings. In his stead, Liam Livingstone, who was in blistering form during the recent T20I series, returns to the side after being initially left out.
All-rounder Jacob Bethell could be in line to make his debut in ODI cricket at Trent Bridge.
Australia are bolstered by the return of their experienced campaigners in the shape of Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Mitchell Starc, Marnus Labuschagne and Alex Carey.
Left-arm pace bowler Ben Dwarshuis has been called into the squad having enjoyed a decent spell at Durham and Northern Superchargers in English domestic cricket this term.
Dwarshuis will be the fourth specialist paceman in action for Australia in the ODI series, joining Starc, Hazlewood, and Sean Abbott, with all-rounders Cameron Green, Aaron Hardie, and skipper Mitch Marsh providing assistance while teenage pacer Mahli Beardman is on standby.
Adam Zampa is the only frontline spinner in the squad but Travis Head and Glenn Maxwell provide.
