LINGFIELD PARK

Race 3 No2 SAN FRANCISCO BAY
Trainer: Henry Candy – Jockey: Trevor Whelan

SAN FRANCISCO BAY put in his best run of the season when chasing home Top Of The Class at Kempton, while also showing that he appreciated a return to Polytrack. A dual scorer in mid-summer last season, he can take the spoils in the colours of his trainer.

Race 5 No13 PHOENIX MOON (Each Way)
Trainer: Denis Coakley- Jockey: Oisin Murphy

One that really takes my eye at the bottom of the weights is PHOENIX MOON. The daughter of Phoenix Of Spain claimed a first cheque when fourth as an 80-1 roughie at Kempton and on the basis of that improvement and with Murphy an eye taking booking can make a further step up to get into the shake-up.

Race 6 No1 APOTHEOSIS
Trainer: Simon Crisford – Jockey: Jack Mitchell

A penalty for his Haydock success shouldn’t prevent APOTHEOSIS keeping up the good work. He landed some good bets by the narrowest of margins but has done well subsequently. He should have the measure of the consistent filly Upscale.

RIPON

Race 1 No4 MISS HATHAWAY
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan

MISS HATHAWAY has been a consistent earner for connections by earning on every outing and is worth another chance. She is narrowly preferred to stablemates Lovely Spirit and Lastchancezouloon, who are hard to separate.

Race 2 No6 CARIBBEAN WIND (Nap)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: Callum Rodriguez

Rodriguez is an eye-taking booking for CARIBBEAN WIND who brings the best form to the table and should prove hard to beat. The Bated Breath filly used up a lot of energy by racing freely when returning from a break at Leicester, but it’s served to take the fizz out of her and she can stave off the challenge of Kodenza.

Race 4 No4 KINGS MERCHANT
Trainer: Ed Bethell – Jockey: Callum Rodriguez

KINGS MERCHANT travelled beautifully before putting the race to bed at Doncaster to record a third win of the season. The progressive three-year-old can keep up the good work as long as this doesn’t come too quickly.

Race 5 No4 POET’S DAWN
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan

POET’S DAWN likes this undulating course, and after posting his best run of the season last time is ready to put one on the board. The veteran can take the spoils at the main expense of top-weight Dawn Of Liberation.

CARLISLE

Race 1 No11 WATER OF LEITH (Each Way)
Trainer: Jim Goldie – Jockey: Amie Waugh

WATER OF LEITH has been granted a plum draw for this 1200 metres sprint and will enjoy stretching out a tad on the distance ladder. He has won on the track, while his apprentice pilot has ridden him several times both on the course and at home.

Race 7 No3 BARLEY (Nap)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: Amie Waugh

BARLEY can hopefully enable us to top and tail the meeting. The five-year-old has a very good record at this track, having scored over course and distance in June and finished second here last month. While it’s hard to dismiss any of the other runners the Mehmas gelding will be hard to beat.
