LINGFIELD
Race 1 – HATADORA 15/4
Richard Hannon’s HATADORA could be hard for the handicapper to keep tabs on.
She was given a rating of 58 having finished unplaced in her first three outings, but there had been a glimpse of promise.
On her handicap debut she only won by a neck from Eccentric over a mile, but having had to come wide into the straight, she was probably value for more. A 2lb rise should not stop her following up in the Stay Golden With BetMGM Safer Gambling Handicap at Lingfield.
Race 2 – EPSOM FAITHFULL 10/3
EPSOM FAITHFULL has been in great form for Pat Phelan and can bring up a hat-trick in the BetMGM: It’s Showtime Handicap.
A mare in form should always be followed and she has won at Lingfield off 72 and 75 the last twice. Now up to 78, she has outstanding claims again.
Race 3 – MASQOOL 11/2
MASQOOL was knocking on the door prior to a win tackling track and trip. First-time cheekpieces applied that day are retained and the Invincible Spirit gelding looks set to defy a 2.2lb higher mark.
Tribal Wisdom had the selection back in second when winning over course and distance two starts ago. Since scored again contesting a 1m1 1/2f event at Wolverhampton and must be respected under the penalty.
Others to note include Goldsmith who shaped nicely back in fourth attempting 1m1/2f at Wolverhampton last start and handicap newcomer Dynamiste.
Race 7 – CRACKING GOLD 4/9
Clive Cox’s CRACKING GOLD can defy a penalty in the Best Racing Odds Guaranteed At BetMGM Novice Stakes.
Unraced at two, the Havana Gold colt made his debut in January and looked more than useful when beating a well-touted Godolphin newcomer who has since come out and bolted up himself.
He cost 95,000 guineas and while he is conceding 6lb to the rest, Cox must think he is up to it.
CARLISLE
Race 2 – CLOVIS ISLAND 10/3
CLOVIS ISLAND is entitled to step forward from his hurdling debut in the Come Racing At Carlisle In 2024 Novices’ Hurdle.
Hailing from the in-form yard of Nicky Richards, the six-year-old was second in his only point-to-point before joining the Greystoke handler.
He made the perfect start to life under rules in March last year when winning a bumper at Hexham by two lengths from Fox’s Fancy in heavy ground, looking a nice prospect in doing so.
Not sighted after that for over 200 days, he made his hurdling debut at Hexham in December and while it was not a total disaster, it was disappointing he could finish only fourth given he was 2/1 favourite.
Nevertheless, better can be expected with that run under his belt and the yard have been among the winners in recent days.
Race 3 – RED HAPPY 4/1
RED HAPPY is a ten-time chase winner including at Carlisle. Nicely-treated on figures and may show his class among this company.
This could come at the chief expense of dual hurdling victor Fiston De Becon who unseated his rider when hampered tackling the trip at Uttoxeter in latest effort.
Hello Judge managed to win over course and distance and cannot be ignored from an each-way perspective.
Trac is three from five when partnered with Conor O’Farrell.
Race 5 – SHIGHNESS 7/2
SHIGHNESS went to Catterick earlier this month and despite being raised 3lb she was the hot favourite to oblige and she did just that.
Brian Hughes appears to get on really well with her and a 4lb rise ahead of the Book Your Raceday Hospitality Now Handicap Chase looks fair.
Race 6 – BOOSTER BOB 8/13
Olly Murphy’s BOOSTER BOB has not been seen since winning a Listed event at Sandown when he showed stamina is his forte.
Carlisle is a stiff track at the best of times and it will be especially so in testing ground, but he looks ready for the step up in trip in the Book Your Conference And Events Now Handicap Hurdle.
WOLVERHAMPTON
Race 2 – NEPTUNE LEGEND 9/4
NEPTUNE LEGEND managed to win over seven furlongs before finishing second attempting this journey beaten one length. Likely contender.
Arlecchino’s Gift found the frame on his previous three outings and won’t be far away.
Red Walls finished third both runs since a victory and can remain competitive.
Jackmeister Rudi was back in second last time, and holds place claims.
Race 3 – TUNEFUL 9/4
George Boughey has managed to get TUNEFUL a mark of 63 after three outings in maiden and novice company and it would be no surprise if she leaves that behind in the Best Racing Odds Guaranteed At BetMGM Handicap at Wolverhampton.
She may be a daughter of the speedy Blue Point but she has plenty of stamina in her pedigree, so this step up in trip is likely to see her in an even better light.
Race 6 – SNOOZE LANE 9/4
SNOOZE LANE comes without a win for some time. This dual course and distance winner looks to be well weighted and could go close.
Harbour Vision finished second on two occasions here recently and likely thereabouts again.
Mr Trick held excuses since a victory in December and might be suited by these conditions.
Nine Elms may place revisiting this track after a disappointing effort last time.
Race 8 – TERESA GRACE 8/1
TERESA GRACE is yet to win on the all weather but is placed in two of three starts, so is expected to be competitive in the Betuk. Home Of The Acca-Fenwa Handicap.
Mokaatil maintains a long losing streak. Drops considerably in weights and may prove dangerous.
Jacquelina finished second over course and distance last week. Set to get involved with a similar effort.
Lion Ring looks suited by this drop back in distance.
