Wales v Australia
Sunday 24 September
Groupama Stadium

Wales 87/100 | Draw 16/1 | Australia 10/11

This matchup in Lyon has shaped up to be one of the biggest in the competition so far, with the Wallabies’ defeat to Fiji last week meaning another here could potentially spell the end of their World Cup campaign.

For Wales, wins over the Pacific Islanders and Portugal has put them top of the pool on 10-points, four more than Australia and Fiji. Victory on Sunday would book them a spot in the quarterfinals.

Neither side has been particularly good so far, with Eddie Jones making some key changes to his side after their poor performance in the second round.

There is no place for the much-vaunted Carter Gordon, with the youngster’s place at No 10 taken by regular fullback Ben Donaldson in a telling change. Andrew Kellaway starts at No 15.

Is the pressure finally getting to everybody’s favourite half-Japanese, half-Australian Wallaby boss? It certainly looks that way.

The game should be about as tight as they come, but the Dragons’ superior physicality and structure could spell the end of Australia by the narrowest of margins.

Verdict: Wales 87/100
