Jacques Nienaber’s side got the defence of their World Cup crown off to a solid start in their 18-3 win against Scotland at the Stade Vélodrome last Sunday. The performance wasn’t perfect but there is plenty to build from as the campaign continues.
This week they face a Romania side that, despite scoring first, ultimately succumbed to the Irish in an 82-8 hiding at this venue last Saturday. The match will be viewed by the SA coaching staff as a way to give their fringe squad players a hit out and the group should have no trouble claiming a comprehensive win in a similar vein to that of Ireland.
