Scotland v Tonga
24 September
Allianz Riviera

Scotland 1/66 | Draw 40/1 | Tonga 10/1

Gregor Townsend’s men head into this their second game of the tournament after a 3-18 loss to South Africa in Marseille in round one. Despite being comprehensively outplayed on that occasion, they should rebound well here against the Pacific Islanders.

The Scots cannot afford to drop off given they must still face Ireland in the pool, and a bonus point victory on Sunday would give their quarterfinal ambitions a big boost.

The Ikale Tahi were outclassed 59-16 by a full-strength Irish outfit last week but should be more competitive in this one. They’ll get more opportunities to express themselves against the Brave Hearts but ultimately Scotland should have too much quality to slip up here.

Verdict: Scotland (-24.5) 10/11
