England 1/11 | Argentina 5/1

The hosts will be keen to hit the ground running as they face a rather difficult close to the year with fixtures against Japan, New Zealand and South Africa to follow this clash with the Argentines.

It’s been a strange old season for Eddie Jones’ side, who endured one of their worst Six Nations campaigns in recent years as they finished third on the standings with only two wins from their five games.

Things got better for the English in July, however, as they enjoyed a successful tour of Australia beating an injury-ravaged Wallaby outfit 1-2 in their three-match series.

Despite bouncing back Down Under, there are still numerous questions about the balance of this England side. There are question marks around their midfield while their back row which has some class individuals is still somewhat unbalanced.

England have got some really good news on the injury front this week with Johnny May close to making a shock return from an elbow injury he picked up two weeks ago.

Owen Farrell is also close to returning from a concussion. One man who won’t take to the pitch this weekend is Northampton flanker Courtney Lawes who is still suffering from concussion symptoms a month after sustaining one.

Like England, Argentina had a sluggish start to the year as they struggled against an understrength Scotland side during their July series. The Argentines would eventually win the series 2-1, but it took a last-gasp try for them to achieve this.

Despite finishing fourth in the Rugby Championship, Los Pumas gave a far better account of themselves in that tournament than they did against Scotland as they beat Australia and New Zealand.

Argentina have certainly improved in 2022, but I reckon they’ll struggle against England at Twickenham. England are a very structured team, and the Argentines tend to struggle against sides who don’t get sucked into playing a loose game. England on the (-14.5) at 8/13 for me.
