Orlando Pirates midfielder Monnapule Saleng has revealed that his strict training regime is the secret behind his electrifying form, following yet another Man of the Match performance against Maritzburg United.
The Buccaneers claimed a 2-1 victory over the Team of Choice at the Orlando Stadium on Friday night, with Saleng and striker Terrence Dzvukamanja scoring the goals.
Saleng, who collected his second consecutive Man of the Match award, has been in sensational form for Pirates this season, with nine goals and four assists in his 16 appearances across all competitions.
“The way I train is the way I play,” said Saleng in an interview with the club’s media. “I don’t rest. I’m constantly training, even at home. I want to be at the top consistently. I want to do well in every game.”

Saleng also credits the club’s senior players for their help in motivating him during training. “My teammates, the senior players, are always motivating me.
“They see how far I want to go and they constantly motivate me in training. So, I’m happy to be around them,” Saleng added.
The win against Maritzburg marked Pirates’ fourth victory in their last five league matches, and they currently sit in third place on the DStv Premiership table.
