PLUMPTON

Race 2 No9 GREATNESS AWAITS
Trainer: Ben Pauling – Jockey: Kielan Woods

It’s taken GREATNESS AWAITS a few runs to learn the rudiments of jumping but the four-year-old has claimed a cheque on his last two outings and looks to be nearing a breakthrough success for a trainer whose horses have been in good order through the spring. A strong traveller, this tight track looks sure to play to his strengths.

Race 6 No11 CAPTAIN CLAUDE
Trainer: Anthony Honeyball – Jockey: Ben Godfrey

CAPTAIN CLAUDE came home unchallenged at Fontwell and was greeted with a 10lb rise by the assessor. He’s moving up to a new distance and while that should help him, he was probably good value for his margin of victory, while his confidence levels are on a high that nothing else in the field can match.

Race 7 No1 STUTI
Trainer: Hughie Morrison – Jockey: Niall Houlihan

Home-bred STUTI landed some good bets when scoring at Southwell last week and has taken those exertions in her stride. The Kayf Tara mare finds herself in a tougher race under a 7lb penalty, but her shrewd trainer’s horses have just started to move up a gear, and her burden is eased by Houlihan’s 3lb claim

STRATFORD

Race 3 No10 SUPASUNRISE
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Finn Lambert

SUPASUNRISE needs to shake-off a couple of heavy defeats, but prior to those his record since going chasing read 2413 while he was placed on his only start at this track over hurdles. He should go off at a double-figure price for this two-and-a-half-mile novices’ handicap chase and will get admirable assistance from the saddle to enable him to bounce back.

Race 6 No3 ALI STAR BERT
Trainer: Shaun Harris – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies

On a tough card ALI STAR BERT rates the best bet. Apart from being pulled up on his chase debut he seems to have turned a corner since switching to fences and was a clear-cut winner of handicaps at Uttoxeter and Chepstow before finishing second to Rostello at Southwell. His trainer appears to have found another good opening for him.
