EPSOM DOWNS

Race 1 – EBT’S GUARD 5/1

EBTS GUARD (3) brings strong placed form including a neck second last week among this company on soft ground at Newbury tackling the trip. Leading chance.

RATING (8) ran well at Sandown four weeks ago when 1.25L second attempting this grade and journey. Main danger.

MERCIAN WARRIOR (7) showed plenty of ability at the Curragh (Ireland) finishing 2.5L runner-up contesting a competitive auction sales race over 6f. Makes for appeal.

MR BALOO (9) scored by 1.5L a lower class 7f nursery at Salisbury. Holds claims.

Race 2 – GOLDEN WEST 9/4

GOLDEN WEST (1) made a winning debut six weeks ago running 2.25L clear in a 1m novice contest at Newcastle AW. That form line appears to be working out well and can be considered.

SAYEDATY SADATY (2) maintains a mixed profile to date but did show best at Kempton AW in latest finding success by 2.5L contesting a 1m novice event. Makes for appeal.

TRUE WISDOM (4) could go close having scored by 0.5L second up attempting a 1m maiden at Newmarket. VICTORIOUS STREET (3) is open to plenty of improvement on second racecourse appearance.

Race 3 – FORCEFUL SPEED 18/10

FORCEFUL SPEED (3) maintains good winning form. Bids for a hat-trick following a narrow Pontefract 1 ¼m handicap win preceding a 1.75L success at Redcar among this company.

Leading contender representing a good jockey and trainer team.
Previous course and distance winner BUG BOY (7) rates the main danger after handling a similar track well scoring narrowly tackling this grade and a similar trip at Brighton in August. Respect.

GLENISTER (2) brings a consistent profile including a smart 2.25L second attempting a 1 ¾m Racing League handicap at Wolverhampton AW. In the mix. DUNDORY (5) was a good second in this race last year and could feature.

Race 4 – NAXOS  18/10

NAXOS (5) showed plenty of ability when 2.25L second at Wolverhampton AW contesting a Racing League handicap over 1 ⅛m. Serious player.

BURGLAR (6) filled the same position a month ago finishing 5L behind the winner tackling a 1 ¼m handicap at Newmarket. Respect.

BIZARRE LAW (7) ran well at Chester in June managing a solid third attempting this journey in a lower graded handicap. Can handle undulating tracks and rates an interesting chance.

AUSTRIAN THEORY (4) won a competitive higher level 1 ⅛m handicap here during June and could find this a good opportunity after mixed recent efforts. Shortlist.

Race 5 – STRONG IMPACT 1/5

STRONG IMPACT (6) looks a promising filly having recorded three runner-up efforts from four career starts including a 3.5L defeat over this distance in a Sandown handicap two weeks ago. Top chance.

SOIGNEUX BELL (1) made a winning debut in May when successful on soft ground at Angers (France) attempting a 1 ⅜m maiden. New trainer now and rates highly.

LETSBEFRANK (3) profiles well being a three-year-old by Frankel. Interesting debutante. MARTIN SPIRIT (2) looks next best.

Race 6 – FLY ZONE 3/1

FLY ZONE (5) handled a similar undulating track two outings ago when a decent third in a 1m maiden at Brighton. Progressed at Wolverhampton AW since finishing 1.75L second among novice company. Leading player.

OVERNIGHT OATS (6) did well here two weeks back running a strong 0.5L second attempting the journey in a handicap. Makes for plenty of appeal.

HI CLARE (7) showed ability at this venue when 0.5L second tackling a track and trip handicap. May go close. Last start course and distance winner SHOT OF LOVE (8) is not to be dismissed.

Race 7 – MAN OF EDEN 3/1

MAN OF EDEN (5) ran with credit at Ascot finishing a good fifth tackling a higher graded 1m handicap. This is easier and rates a big chance to win the final race at Epsom of 2023.

FARASI LANE (1) showed plenty of ability at Wolverhampton AW when 1.25L second contesting 1 ⅛m in a Racing League handicap. Include.

MARLAY PARK (3) scored by 0.5L a course and distance handicap in this grade beating SECRET STRENGTH (8). The former is a four-timer winner here and warrants respect while the latter cannot be discounted on that form.

FFOS LAS

Race 1 MARMARA STAR 33/10

MARMARA STAR (4) is taken to go one better than when 0.8L second over 1 ³⁄₁₆m at Wolverhampton.

CITY ESCAPE (2) completed a double by 0.5L tackling 1 ¼m here. Holds strong claims of registering a third consecutive victory.

LHEBAYEB (6) rates highly on the back of a 3.3L third attempting 1 ⅜m at Goodwood.

GAVIN (8) ran 14L second in a 2 m handicap hurdle at Stratford. Consider revisiting the flat.

Race 2 – ARIZONA DESERT 28/10

ARIZONA DESERT (1) can defy top weight having finished 0.5L third over 7f at Newcastle.

CHRIS’S MATE (6) took a step forward when 0.5L second attempting 1m at Yarmouth. Danger to all.

STORM ALICE (2) followed up a Chepstow win with a 10.8L fourth in a 1m contest at Yarmouth. Worth noting. WESTON COURT (5) is another with claims on the back of a 3.3L fourth tackling 1m at Bath on handicap debut.

Race 3 – TAMFANA 11/10

TAMFANA (5) showed plenty of ability when a neck third over 7 ½f at Ffos Las on debut. Selected to break her maiden at the second attempt.

DUBAI HILLS (2) is expected to go well having finished 8L eleventh tackling 7f at Southwell.

LILY’S SECRET (4) debuted with a 25L sixth attempting 5 ½f in a maiden at Bath. Improvement likely. BATTLE OF OMDURMAN (1) came home 12L eighth debuting in a 1m contest at Kempton. Holds claims switching to turf.

Race 4 – HEARTRATE 1/1

HEARTRATE (1) raced prominently prior to delivering a 3.8L victory in a 6f handicap at this venue. Selected to follow up under similar tactics.
ZOUKSTER (3) has won three times from nine starts including by a head over 7f at Newbury on his penultimate start. Expected to challenge for the win.

CREATIVE STYLE (2) ran 0.8L third tackling 6f at Hamilton. Of note despite a below par eighth at Lingfield subsequently. MELODY CHER (5) is another to consider on her first start since a 10.5L fifth attempting 1m at Kempton in May.

Race 5 – DRAGONBALL PRINCE 3/1

DRAGONBALL PRINCE (6) placed second beaten 1.8L in a 2 ¹⁄₁₆m handicap at Pontefract. Selected to deliver his first victory.

PERCY JONES (1) is expected to go well following a 5L fifth attempting a 1 ¾m handicap at Wolverhampton.

PORT OR STARBOARD (7) showed good form when 8.8L third in a 2 ⁷⁄₁₆m handicap hurdle here during May. Shortlist.

TRIPLE NICKLE (8) enters calculations on her first outing since finishing 8L third of four in a 2 ¹⁄₁₆m Newton Abbot handicap hurdle September last year.

Race 6 – SHEROOD 13/10

SHEROOD (3) placed third beaten 3.3L over 1m at Newmarket and can register his first victory.

CHANGE OF FORTUNE (4) is considered following a 3.3L fourth attempting 1 ¼m at this track. LEITRIM ROCK (8) enters calculations on the back of a 7.5L fourth tackling 1 ¼m at Beverley.

KHANGAI (7) ran 16L sixth in a 1 ¼m contest at Doncaster. Capable of going well with racing and is versatile regarding tactics.

17:50 (Ffos Las) Rajwaan

RAJWAAN (1) ended last year with a 0.8L victory in a 5f handicap at Southwell. Selected to make a winning seasonal debut.

HEY MR (3) rates highly following a 4L second over 6f at Brighton. ANGE DE L’AMOUR (2) performed well finishing 4.3L third in a 5f handicap at Bath. Holds strong claims of registering a victory racing second up.

SHESADABBER (5) won twice prior to a 6L fifth tackling 5f at Southwell. Consider.
