WINDSOR

Race 1 – BJORN IRONSIDE 7/2

BJORN IRONSIDE is Gosden-trained and ran well enough on first outing since being gelded when seventh in a Newmarket maiden. Consider now handicapping with the hood worn that day removed.

Bath runner-up Tactical Control makes for plenty of appeal eased 1lbs. Phone Tag would hold strong claims on form of his fourth-placed finish over 7f at Goodwood on penultimate outing. Continuance is also respected.

Race 4 – CABINET OF CLOWNS 5/1

Top-weight CABINET OF CLOWNS may come home in front. He went down by a head over 1m at Southwell last time and looks to hold every chance up 1lbs. Repertoire drops in class and weight and cannot be ignored.

Previous course and distance winner Dream of Mischief could be in the mix on the back of his third-placed finish tackling 1m at Lingfield AW last time. Each-way claims go the way of Azahara Palace.

Race 6 – WESTERN STARS 4/1

An open-looking contest. WESTERN STARS carries top weight but won latest with something in hand over 1 ¼m at Haydock and Luke Catton negates any penalty while going up in distance. Mrs Meader could go well after finishing runner-up tackling 1 ⁹⁄₁₆m at Newcastle.

Others to consider are Stage Show who was third behind an improving performer attempting 1 ½m at Kempton and last start Epsom (1 ½m) winner Feyha.

Race 8 – CORINTHIA KNIGHT 11/2

CORINTHIA KNIGHT was formerly smart and arrives in good condition following a decent third-placed finish tackling 6f at Hamilton. The Archie Watson trained gelding is certainly on a decent mark and may take advantage this time around.

Bidding for a hat-trick On Edge cannot be ignored after success attempting 6f at Salisbury. Lahina Bay scored over the same course and distance last time and could go well off this revised mark. Phoenix Glow makes for each-way appeal.

PONTEFRACT

Race 1 –  PREPSCHOOL 13/10

PREPSCHOOL improved on his runner-up effort at Epsom to make all and score by 3L at Ripon. Heavily eased that day he looks set for a big run raised in journey. The Hun arrives here off the back of consecutive seconds at Ripon and Newcastle. In the mix third-up.

Curran opened his account on second outing tackling the trip at Newcastle scoring by a comfortable 2L. Danger. Any moves in the market for debutant Agostino Masucci are to be noted.

Race 3 – CREATE 7/1

CREATE scored tackling the trip on her Southwell debut and was reappearing from a long break when just denied at the same venue last month. Looks the one to beat second-up. Tobetso gained his second turf win two starts back attempting this journey at Ripon. Just missed the frame at Ayr in latest but could bounce back with a bold showing.

Eastern Charm recently completed a five-timer all over this distance before her third of seven effort at Sandown brought that streak to an end. Respect. Metahorse has been running well in defeat of late and could be thereabouts.

Race 5 – COSMOS RAJ 17/2

COSMOS RAJ ran well and was unlucky when finding one too good tackling the trip at Ayr last month. Replicating that performance could see him thereabouts challenging for turf win number seven. Romilda is expected to improve for the switch to handicaps and is feared eased in grade.

Powerful Respoonse has won twice and placed twice from six runs since being gelded. Makes the shortlist wearing first-time cheekpieces. Hiromichi may place.

Race 8 – HEARTRATE 9/4

HEARTRATE reappeared for a new stable securing his second win on turf with a 4L triumph at Ffos Las. Another bold bid anticipated second-up. Sir Maxi is two from three over course and distance. Still looks fairly treated on figures to warrant plenty of respect.

Ghathanfar is a previous winner tackling track and trip and receiving a big drop in grade enters calculations along with The Dunkirk Lads who looks one for the placings.
