THIRSK
Race 1 – PFINGSTBERG 2/1
PFINGSTBERG placed the past four races including beaten second when favourite at Windsor in latest and will be in the mix.
It’s How We Roll is a four-time turf winner who comes into this off the back of consecutive runner-up efforts and should be respected.
Ghostly and Tiberio Force should also be in your calculations.
Race 4 – CANDONOMORE 2/1
Tim Easterby’s CANDONOMORE can go one better than his debut to take the British EBF 40th Anniversary Novice Stakes.
The Almanzor colt was beaten only a short head when stepping on a racecourse for the first time at York, losing out to William Haggas’ subsequent Acomb third Loose Cannon.
Race 6 – MEZZO SOPRANO 1/3
MEZZO SOPRANO can strike again to take the Vickers.Bet Best Odds Guaranteed EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes.
Simon and Ed Crisford’s filly is by Exceed And Excel and out of 2016 Irish 1,000 Guineas fifth Cool Thunder.
On debut at Catterick she won by two and quarter lengths eased down, looking as though she had plenty more up her sleeve.
Race 8 – MUTANAASEQ 6/1
MUTANAASEQ registered back-to-back Catterick victories when a winner six days ago. Attractively treated on figures and rates a major player despite being turned out again quickly.
Kats Bob has held his form since scoring at Ayr producing two decent placed efforts and is not one to take lightly.
Run This Way can secure a place.
KEMPTON
Race 1 – PINPOINT 28/10
PINPOINT was denied a second victory when beaten a head at this track. That form is strong and can do better again.
Rising Force provided a game win at Chelmsford two starts back. Good second since and finds another good opportunity.
Cherry Hill placed on three of five outings and secures top jockey in Oisin Murphy, so has solid each-way chances.
Race 3 – ELECTRIC STORM 7/2
James Tate’s ELECTRIC STORM can back up a win on debut with another in the Unibet Support Safe Gambling Novice Stakes.
The chestnut was a winner at the same track on debut last month, taking a 10-runner novice by a head from prior and subsequent winner Le Mans.
A homebred, she runs in the same Saeed Manana silks as her sire, 2000 Guineas winner Night Of Thunder, and she has the scope to improve for his first outing.
This will obviously be a bit trickier with a penalty, and given there is plenty of stamina in her pedigree it is a surprising move to see her drop from seven to six furlongs.
However, she showed a really likeable attitude first time out and looks sure to go well again.
Race 4 – ATLANTIS BLUE 5/2
George Baker’s ATLANTIS BLUE can get off the mark in the Unibet/Breeders Backing Racing EBF Novice Stakes.
The four-year-old has yet to win in nine starts but has almost always been close to the action, finishing the runner-up on her past four starts including behind Naqeeb over this course and distance last time out.
That may have been a 10-length loss, but Naqeeb has since gone on to win a good Haydock handicap and gain a mark of 104 so the form is respected.
Race 7 – DUBAI DREAMER 28/10
DUBAI DREAMER had excuses when a beaten favourite on handicap debut. From this workable mark may improve and is the one to beat.
Lady Of Arabia won four starts ago and performed creditably on all outings since and should be considered.
Giant and Photon shouldn’t be ruled out.
