LINGFIELD PARK
Race 3 No6 QUEEN’S MUSIC
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: Oisin Murphy
Murphy looks a very interesting booking for QUEEN’S MUSIC who the first horse trainer Channon has sent out for owner Jaber Abdullah. The daughter of Soldier’s Call is a neat individual who even though certain to improve for this first foray onto the racecourse is forward enough to deliver first time.
Race 5 No8 STARSTRIKER (Nap)
Trainer: James Ferguson – Jockey: Oisin Murphy
STARSTRIKER looks another ace in a good book of rides for Murphy. The daughter of Zoustar has a perfect draw from which to go one better than on her 2023 reappearance when narrowly denied at Windsor, which is the best form on offer in this maiden.
CATTERICK BRIDGE
Race 1 No3 CURIOUS ROVER (Nap)
Trainer: Katie Scott – Jockey: Sam James
CURIOUS ROVER has earned on both outings to make him the choice over similarly credentialed filly Mia Toretto. The selection did nothing wrong except win when beaten in an Ayr maiden and should now be spot on to deliver on this third career outing.
Race 4 No2 LANGHOLM
Trainer: Michael Dods – Jockey: Connor Beasley
LANGHOLM put in a creditable effort when doing his best work at the finish in third at this course nine days ago. He’s been running like a horse that’s ready to revisit the winners’ circle and although not well drawn will not be inconvenienced by a return to a sprint distance.
MUSSELBURGH
Race 1 No2 CHARACTER TESTING (Nap)
Trainer: Tom Clover – Jockey: Danny Tudhope
Time Test colt CHARACTER TESTING was beaten inches when nibbled at in the market on his Kempton introduction. He’s worked well on grass at home and shouldn’t mind this switch from Polytrack as he steps up to seven furlongs.
Race 3 No5 LOVE DE VEGA
Trainer: Charlie Johnston – Jockey: Ben Curtis
Now that he’s put his head in front, LOVE DE VEGA can advertise what an effective operator he is at this time of the summer. The Lope De Vega colt failed to menace at the Goodwood Festival but was a dominating scorer in the soft at Hamilton, showing how much he relishes getting his toe into the ground.
UTTOXETER
Race 7 No8 HAPPY INDEX (Nap)
Trainer: Paul Webber – Jockey: Adam Wedge
HAPPY INDEX was in good form in the late spring when scoring at Ludlow and finishing second at Fontwell. Out of a mare that her trainer excelled with, the five-year-old is fresh and well for this first run in almost 100 days and can put in another earning run.
KEMPTON PARK
Race 1 No5 AMANCIO
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: James Doyle
AMANCIO had more in front of him than behind when making his debut at Windsor, but like so many of the juveniles from this stable will go forward with that experience under his belt and can contend for the first division of the novice. The Sixties Icon gelding went very well in a workout on grass last week and with Doyle in the irons should get into the shake-up.
Race 6 No8 URBAN OUTLOOK (Nap)
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: David Probert
URBAN OUTLOOK appeals as a well weighted player in this interesting Class4, but the Cityscape gelding just needs to prove his fitness following a six month gap since his success in a Lingfield maiden in early March. He’s a very interesting runner on handicap debut, and should prove a bet worth waiting for.
