LINGFIELD PARK

Race 2 No10 HILL STATION (Nap)
Trainer: Gary Moore – Jockey: Rob Hargreaves

As the least experienced in this two-mile hurdle HILL STATION has plenty going for him and could easily step up a gear on only his second outing in a handicap. He’s earned in each of his last three starts and hails from a stable with a cracking record at the track. His last couple of runs on the all-weather have been underwhelming, but he’ll be fitter for the latest of those at the beginning of the month.

Race 6 No6 COLONEL KEATING
Trainer: Richard Rowe – Jockey: Tabitha Worsley

Connections of COLONEL KEATING will make a ground check before confirming him a runner but should there be sufficient juice in the terrain he should claim a major cheque. The veteran put in a pleasing run on return from a wind op to chase home multiple scorer Coolvalla at Fontwell and will be sharper for that.

AYR

Race 3 No6 HALONDO (Nap)
Trainer: Olly Murphy – Jockey: Fergus Gregory

HALONDO has progressed in three hurdling runs this season, latterly finishing second at this track at the beginning of January. He was unlucky to run into the smart Givega on his previous outing, and looks to have been found a contest in which he can go one better.

Race 5 No3 NICEANDEASY (Each Way)
Trainer: Nick Alexander – Jockey: Conor O’Farrell

NICEANDEASY takes the eye on a return to hurdling after being hampered by jumping issues on three chasing starts this season. He was about to mount a challenge when falling two out in a valuable long distance contest at Kelso and made mistakes before being pulled up at Haydock last time. Jet Legs and Apple Away are worth including in exotics around the main pick who will be a much longer price.

NEWCASTLE

Race 4 No3 FINE WINE
Trainer: Scott Dixon – Jockey: Kieran O’Neill

From a stable that struck with a juvenile debutant on Sunday, FINE WINE can make this sprint handicap a fourth win from his last six outings. The progressive six-year-old reserves his best form for Southwell but has won over the minimum trip on two occasions here. He just needs to show that he’s as effective over this slightly longer distance.

Race 7 No1 ANIF (Nap)
Trainer: Michael Herrington – Jockey: Tom Eaves

Since scoring at Southwell in November ANIF has taken home a cheque in all six starts in a campaign that has been almost exclusive to that track. Beaten in a blanket finish when third to Chief’s Will last month, he needs to be delivered with precision timing, and if doing so can return to winning ways.
