LINGFIELD PARK

Race 2 No2 CHRISTIAN DAVID
Trainer: Richard Hannon – Jockey: Thomas Greatrex

CHRISTIAN DAVID can prove the pick of a Hannon trio is this novice. The son of Profitable brings Newmarket form to the table on a third outing and can take full advantage of the 4lb he receives from course and distance scorer Veiled Illusion.

Race 5 No7 SAVIOUR
Trainer: Hugo Palmer – Jockey: Richard Kingscote

SAVIOUR was easy to back on debut at Salisbury but shaped with considerable promise. The Wootton Bassett colt has developed mentally in three subsequent weeks and can go forward sufficiently to open his account on all-weather bow.

CARLISLE

Race 1 No8 VINCENZO
Trainer: Sam Thomas – Jockey: Charlie Deutsch

VINCENZO needs to defy a 200-day absence but hails from a stable that collected with its first three runners and is ready for this long journey to the borders. Placed in both bumper starts, he finished off his race strongly at Chepstow in April and has jumped well in practice for the switch to hurdles.

Race 4 No5 GARDENER (Each Way)
Trainer: Alex Hales – Jockey: Kielan Woods

GARDENER has not been without his issues and only ran three times in his first season over hurdles. His second at Leicester and success at the same track could not be built on when the gelding was last seen at Hereford, but he came away with a genuine excuse and is the least exposed in this first handicap assignment.

Race 5 No4 GOOD RISK AT ALL (Nap)
Trainer: Sam Thomas – Jockey: Charlie Deutsch

This is a warm novices’ chase, but in favour of GOOD RISK AT ALL is that he scored on his reappearance at this track last season and is unlikely to fail for want of fitness. While not achieving as much as his connections hoped in some valuable handicap hurdles last season, the chestnut always promised to find his forte as a chaser, and now is the time to show what he can do.

Race 8 No3 CASA TALL
Trainer: Ben Pauling – Jockey: Thomas Garner

CASA TALL can become a belated birthday present for his jockey on a first outing for the Pauling stable. The nine-year-old regularly earned last season after being equipped with a tongue tie, cheek pieces and finally blinkers. The cheek pieces return today, and although he’s in a warm race he can show that a change of scenery has been beneficial.

LUDLOW

Race 2 No12 NORMAN FLETCHER
Trainer: Nigel Twinston-Davies – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies

NORMAN FLETCHER went off at a ridiculously short price on his hurdles debut only to ruin his chance with some sloppy jumping that eventually colts him dear. On this quick reappearance he can put the record straight, as he has lots of ability and has undergone intense schooling at Grange Farm.

Race 4 No2 SUPREME GIFT (Each Way)
Trainer: Henry Daly – Jockey: Daryl Jacob

SUPREME GIFT is carded to start as one of the outsiders in this limited handicap chase, and if that is the case all well and good. The locally-trained selection faces a tough rival in Outlaw Pete, but is one of the nicest prospects at Downton Hall, and has been well tutored for this switch to fences.

Race 5 No1 BABY SAGE (Nap)
Trainer: Alan King – Jockey: Tom Cannon

BABY SAGE was a runaway scorer on his debut under Rules in a Warwick bumper but couldn’t build on that on his only other start in a red hot race at Ascot. The Flemensfirth gelding is well thought of at Barbary Castle and should make a good first of delivering in this first outing over hurdles.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 6 No5 MOON FLIGHT (Nap)
Trainer: Sir Mark Prescott – Jockey: Luke Morris

Plenty of cash went west when MOON FLIGHT was foiled by Light Speed at Newcastle last week. However, the Sea The Moon gelding finds himself with an equally good opportunity to open his account, and can redress the balance.

Race 8 No2 DELVEY (Each Way)
Trainer: Karen Jewell – Jockey: Luke Morris

Morris has a good book of rides and DELVEY can provide him with a second winner in this low grade handicap. The selection failed by inches to open his account over this course and distance earlier in the month, and faces just as good an opportunity to put his best foot forward.

Place Accumulator Perm (Races 3-9)

1, 6, 9 x 9, 4 x 2, 8 x 5 x 6, 7 x 2, 5, 3 x 4, 8, 12
