GOODWOOD

Race 2 No3 WILLEM TWEE (Nap)
Trainer: James Fanshawe – Jockey: Daniel Muscutt

WILLEM TWEE gave every indication last year that he could be better than a handicapper, although after defeats in successive Class2s at Ascot and Kempton he went into winter quarters. Almost 11 months since his last race he re-enters the arena and is one to take seriously. He’s not been without issues but if on song can outpoint the promising Ingra Tor.

Race 5 No5 LA FRANCESA
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Pat Dobbs

Cherry has had a few chances and could be worth taking on with one of the three newcomers in the field. LA FRANCESA is her trainer’s only runner of the day, and a market check is recommended on the daughter of Lope De Vega who won’t be inconvenienced by any rain.

Race 6 No1 BLESS HIM
Trainer: David Simcock – Jockey: James Doyle

BLESS HIM was due to run here on Saturday but should he turn out for this he’s worth backing. There are far fewer runners than the veteran is used to facing which makes getting cover difficult. However, he’s retained a sparkling turn of foot and after several good runs in valuable handicaps is ready to post a first success of the campaign.

YARMOUTH

Race 4 No11 JEFF KOONS (Nap)
Trainer: John Gosden – Jockey: Rab Havlin

With soft ground to blame for his defeat at Doncaster another chance is afforded to JEFF KOONS on handicap debut. The Frankel colt will operate from the base of the weights, he’s very lightly-raced and could have plenty more to offer on this sounder surface.

Race 5 No5 HURT YOU NEVER
Trainer: Adrian Nicholls – Jockey: Mia Nicholls

HURT YOU NEVER had her impressive winning sequence halted at Windsor two weeks ago after running into the well treated Topa Chico. The daughter of Dandy Man is strongly fancied to bounce back and add to her earlier victories at Redcar, Leicester, Hamilton and Newbury.

BEVERLEY

Race 1 No7 CHESHIRE DANCER
Trainer: Hugo Palmer – Jockey: Clifford Lee

CHESHIRE DANCER finished one place behind Beveragino on her Haydock introduction. However, the Phoenix Of Spain filly has learned bundles from that run and can turn the tables on her more experienced rival while Milliterries could pose a stronger threat.

Race 6 No5 POET’S DAWN (Nap)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan

POET’S DAWN was a winner here exactly a year ago after which he followed-up on his final 2022 start at Nottingham. He’s gone through a nine race drought in 2023, but at the same time indicated with three recent earning runs that he’s ready to regain winning form.
