WINDSOR
Race 1 No5 CONTINUANCE
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: George Bass
CONTINUANCE threatened, but didn’t manage to put the contest to bed when third in a Bath maiden and now has his attention switched to handicaps. The Postponed colt has always looked the type to do well in this division, and has past experience of this course to bring to the table under an apprentice who is good value for his claim.
Race 3 No3 BEAUTY GENERATION
Trainer: Marco Botti – Jockey: Hollie Doyle
Ulysses colt BEAUTY GENERATION bounced back from an underwhelming effort on turf to open his account at Chelmsford and now tries his hand in a nursery. He needs to show that he can act on a grass surface, but if doing so this progressive type should follow-up.
Race 5 No12 SILVRETTA (Nap)
Trainer: Andrew Balding- Jockey: Oisin Murphy
The best bet on an interesting card is the beautifully-bred SILVRETTA. The daughter of Invincible Spirit out of a mare by Frankel posted a very good run against subsequent dual Group 2 winner Sumo Sam last year and returned to chase home a good yardstick dropped back to this trip at Kempton. She’s thrived since that pleasing display, and could well have all the bases covered.
Race 8 No8 PHOENIX GLOW (Each Way)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: George Bass
PHOENIX GLOW missed out on a good opportunity when heavy rain changed the going at Brighton, and was a scratch from her latest race last week. This is a more competitive heat in which hat-trick seeking On Edge needs respecting, but the selection could be well drawn in stall one, and has been in very good form both on the track and at home.
PONTEFRACT
Race 3 No8 MOUNT KING (Each Way)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan
MOUNT KING benefitted from an enterprising ride when opening his account at Thirsk and was not at all disgraced when just out of the money in a Class4 at this track last time. The former Irish- based gelding needs to be taken seriously remaining at the same level, and could still have progression in him.
Race 7 No8 BEAUTY CHOICE (Each Way)
Trainer: Mick Easterby – Jockey: Joanna Mason
BEAUTY CHOICE has knocked on the door under his rider today and threatened with the addition of a visor. He looks to have more going for him than the majority of his foes on a belated first visit to this course, whose still finish should also suit him.
STRATFORD
Race 5 No4 JACK SPRAT ( Nap)
Trainer: Jamie Snowden – Jockey: Gavin Sheehan
JACK SPRAT emerged from a wind operation to run well in maiden hurdles at Huntingdon and Wincanton. Along with multiple scorer Myristica he could have an experience edge of his foes, and though returning from a long absence is ready for this switch to handicaps.
Race 7 No5 BOY FROM BRAZIL
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies
Twiston-Davies has made a very bright start to the campaign, and in this bumper saddles a promising type in BOY FROM BRAZIL who must be monitored for market support.
WOLVERHAMPTON
Race 3 No1 EDGE OF BLUE
Trainer: Charlie Appleby – Jockey: William Buick
EDGE OF BLUE provided a late show for his supporters when getting up in the final couple of strides on debut at Yarmouth. The Blue Point gelding didn’t look in a good place approaching the final furlong, but found a gear when the penny dropped and should be a lot wiser under his penalty in a weak looking heat.
Race 4 No3 CERVARO DELLA SALA (Nap)
Trainer: Paul Cole – Jockey: William Buick
Bungle Inthejungle filly CERVARO DELLA SALA has the rail in this race round a left-handed bend on her second career start. She made a promising start to chase home a smart winner on debut at Kempton and it looks significant that her trainer has engaged the champion jockey for this achievable mission.
Race 7 No6 CLUEDO
Trainer: Henry Candy – Jockey: Trevor Whelan
It was only a minor affair that CLUEDO won at Bath back in the spring the filly has run well in defeat on a return to that track and wasn’t at her best when unplaced there on her latest start. From a good draw one off the fence she can benefit from a switch to sand in her first run on it since her first ever race well over a year ago.
