LINGFIELD PARK
Race 1 No9 JODADANCER (each Way)
Trainer: Ben Pauling – Jockey: Luca Morgan
JODADANCER could be a value option to at last convert his fine homework into a victory on the track at the main expense of Uncle Bert. The selection fell in his only Irish point and has attracted support in each of his starts over hurdles, only to fail to menace. His latest effort which followed wind surgery was an improved one, as he claimed a minor cheque, and on this first run in the South and on a track that should suit he can raise his game.
Race 3 No4 BRIERY EXPRESS (Nap)
Trainer: Noel Williams – Jockey: Tom O’Brien
BRIERY EXPRESS can take out this mares’ handicap chase for a trainer that came off the cold list with a winner and a third last week. She has often run well on a return from a break, and this is her first start since chasing home the useful Annie Day at Fontwell back in November. It’s her debut over fences, but she jumps well and should be the answer.
Race 4 No1 PARIKARMA
Trainer: Gary Moore – Jockey: Jamie Moore
This outfit rarely leave Lingfield empty handed and the same can ring true today with PARIKARMA, the only winner in the field of mares. The daughter of Canford Cliffs was making it a third triumph from only five starts on the Flat and over hurdles when scoring at Taunton earlier n the month, and in a weak race can defy her penalty.
Race 7 No5 DELGANY MONARCH (Each Way)
Trainer: Richard Rowe – Jockey: Tabitha Worsley
Supasunrise looks a gilt-edged earner but at twice the odds DELGANY MONARCH might be worth speculative support. The eight-year-old attracted on course support when claiming a minor cheque on chase debut at Leicester and can build on that, as he’s always promised to be better in this division.
CARLISLE
Race 1 No9 WHITEHAVEN
Trainer: Donald McCain Jnr – Jockey: Brian Hughes
WHITEHAVEN showed a preference for testing conditions on the Flat and should encounter plenty of give on this second outing over jumps. The six-year-old shaped promisingly on his debut over hurdles when third at Catterick and can make it three wins in the last three seasons in this race for the McCain/Hughes combo.
Race 2 No4 BALLYBEG BOSS (Nap)
Trainer: Donald McCain – Jockey: Brian Hughes
McCain and Hughes hold strong claims to send out a second novice scorer with BALLYBEG BOSS who though facing a well-regarded foe in Altobelli can surely leave behind his recent Wetherby effort in which the good bets placed on him went west.
Race 5 No11 POST CHAISE
Trainer: Oliver Greenall – Jockey: Henry Brooke
POST CHAISE is the type of upwardly mobile individual that can run up an impressive sequence of successes, and after a cosy victory at Huntingdon last month is in a good place in the weights to complete a hat-trick. In a hot heat Tile Tapper and Lord Rocco need to be included in exotics.
Race 6 No1 UP FOR PAROL
Trainer: Jamie Snowden – Jockey: William Featherstone
UP FOR PAROL ran a cracker when third in the ultra-competitive Lanzarote Hurdle at Kempton where he enjoyed himself steering a wide course and jumping with zest on his return from a long absence. He has a touch of class about him, and can with a victory under top weight here tee himself up for the Coral Cup at next month’s Cheltenham Festival.
Race 7 No3 ONE FER MAMMA (each Way)
Trainer: Paula Smith – Jockey: Sea Quinlan
ONE FER MAMMA makes just a third appearance of the season and first for his trainer following pleasing efforts in warm contests at Haydock and Warwick. A winner over hurdles and fences that should have more to offer, he should take away a decent cheque and is one of the most attractive bets price-wise on an interesting day.
NEWCASTLE
Race 3 No9 ENRAGED
Trainer: Julie Camacho – Jockey: Callum Rodriguez
ENRAGED deserves a change of luck, and can achieve it in this sprint in which Level Up appeals as a major threat. The selection has been narrowly denied on both starts this year over the course and distance and is getting a fair amount of weight from her main rival.
Race 4 No7 UNITED FORCE (Nap)
Trainer: Archie Watson – Jockey: Paul Mulrennan
UNITED FORCE has troubled the judge on both starts on a Tapeta surface including when chasing home Razoni here last week. The Showcasing colt can now put his best foot forward against a well-touted newcomer in Canberra Legend.
