WINDSOR
Race 1 No2 HACKMAN (Nap)
Trainer: Hugo Palmer – Jockey: Ross Coakley
HACKMAN is rerouted here following the abandoned of Chester on Saturday. He’s kept good company throughout the season and should find this a more straightforward assignment than the nursery in which he finished third, also at Chester, last month.
Race 4 No8 TIRIAC (Each Way)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: Rob Hornby
Few colts have held to their condition as well as TIRIAC, who keeps flattering to deceive and is surely a winner waiting to happen. Closely matched with Amazonian Dream on Goodwood running earlier in the month, he wasn’t done any favours by the draw and might have finished closer than fourth. His trainer adds cheek pieces for what looks his best opportunity yet.
Race 6 No6 SERA DAWN (Nap)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: David Probert
Soft ground holds no perils for SERA DAWN who might have been unlucky when running out of real estate at the end of her latest outing at Leicester. Beaten only two and a half length into fifth, she’s worth supporting to better her earning run on an only previous visit to this course, and to make this the eight time she’s troubled the judge in just ten career starts.
YARMOUTH
Race 2 No2 PEN PORTRAIT (Nap)
Trainer: Simon Crisford – Jockey: James Doyle
PEN PORTRAIT carries a penalty for his decisive Wolverhampton triumph but might still have too many guns for the equally promising Moswaat. The selection hails from a stable enjoying a bountiful autumn and has progressed since opening his account. He has a perfect draw from which to attack, while his rival will need to be on the mettle breaking from the rail.
Race 5 No4 UPPER HAND (Each Way)
Trainer: John Butler – Jockey: Darragh Keenan
There’s not much in the book to recommend many in what looks a weak nursery, and if there’s a plot it could be UPPER HAND who hatches it. The Camacho colt has started at an aggregate of 263-1 in three outings to earn a mark, but he’s too nicely bred to be bottom grade, and can earn in the colours of his trainer.
Race 7 No7 EAGLE DAY
Trainer: David Evans – Jockey: Darragh Keenan
EAGLE DAY has signalled with a couple of frame finishes that he’s on the cusp of notching a first career success and looks the one most likely to halt Dream Pirate’s winning run. It was by just a short head that he failed to oblige at Wolverhampton, but he showed on his previous start at Catterick that he’s effective on turf, to which he returns today.
MUSSELBURGH
Race 2 No2 EDGE OF DARKNESS
Trainer: Charlie Johnston – Jockey: Andrew Mullen
EDGE OF DARKNESS was a dual scorer earlier in the year and after finishing second at Redcar last week should have the whip hand in this humble seller, where his rivals include former stablemate Achnamara.
Race 3 No10 SIXCOR
Trainer: Linda Perrett – Jockey: Andrew Breslin
Havagomecca takes the eye contesting a race she won last year off a 4lb lower mark. However, one that can also earn from the base of the weights is SIXCOR. The selection hasn’t found this course his favourite venue in the past, but gets into the race back on a winnable mark and is worth supporting as a win/place investment.
KEMPTON PARK
Race 1 No7 ST LUKES CHELSEA
Trainer: Ralph Beckett – Jockey: Rossa Ryan
ST LUKES CHELSEA attracted support and looked like justifying it for much of his latest race at Yarmouth. Although fading into third he posted a career best effort on that handicap debut, and with Ryan an eye taking booking for this the Territories colt can make the best of a plum draw four off the rail.
Race 4 No2 BRITANNICA (Nap)
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: Oisin Murphy
If BRITANNICA needed her recent race at Chester should should take care of business and gain an important first success. A beautifully bred individual by Lope De Vega out of an Invincible Spirit mare, she’s had a few chances but has a good slot in the gate as well as former champion Murphy in her saddle.
Race 8 No1 TYPICAL WOMAN (Each Way)
Trainer: Ian Williams – Jockey: David Egan
TYPICAL WOMAN ran better than it looked at Yarmouth when claiming a minor cheque behind Winter Wildes. She was intimidated and prevented from claiming racing real estate in order to mount a challenge. Only a wide draw offers any negativity to the chance of the daughter of Nathaniel who rates one of the best bets of that day.
