LINGFIELD PARK

Race 4 No1 BAND OF JOY (Nap)
Trainer: George Boughey – Jockey: Pat Cosgrave

BAND OF JOY is well drawn in this race round a left-handed bend, and after two outings has the streetwise persons required to take away another cheque. Her Windsor success was given a considerable boost when runner-up Make It Easy trotted up at Catterick last week. She’s penalised for that triumph, but is very much the one to beat.

Race 6 No3 SPARKLING SPIRIT
Trainer: Adrian Keatley – Jockey: Tom Marquand

Outreach takes my eye but the grey will need all the luck going from his outer draw. Preference is therefore for SPARKLING SPIRIT who shaped well on a first run for her new handler to place at Wolverhampton and has the perfect spot in the gate from which to do well on this first run in handicap company.

BEVERLEY

Race 1 No7 LADY NUNTHORPE (Nap)
Trainer: Bryan Smart – Jockey: Paul Mulrennan

LADY NUNTHORPE can post a minor upset by downing the odds-on Graceful Thunder. The selection upped her game with Mulrennan in the saddle when earning on her second start over this course and distance. That put her fully in the zone to cash in on the 7lb she receives from the penalised favourite.

Race 7 No3 LOOK BACK SMILING
Trainer: Gemma Tutty – Jockey: Laura Coughlan

Breaking from one off the rail, LOOK BACK SMILING is in a good place from which to gain a favourable position in the straight. He ran well on his first visit to this track last month, put in an even better display when beaten in a close photo at Hamilton and looks ready to win.

SOUTHWELL

Race 1 No4 BOAGRIUS ( Each Way)
Trainer: Tom George – Jockey: Harry Cobden

Steel Wave would be of interest if making a swift reappearance after running at Stratford on Sunday, but BOAGRIUS looks sure to take his chance after an earning run at Ffos Las. The veteran likes to front run, and on a track that will suit him he could get onto an easy lead and prove hard to peg back.

Race 5 No10 LUCKY DRAW (Nap)
Trainer: Daniel Bourne – Jockey: Jay Tidball

As the only mare taking on males, LUCKY DRAW receives weight from her opponents and should prove hard to beat. She’s hit the crossbar in successive handicap hurdles at Uttoxeter and Market Rasen and will find herself in calmer waters back in novice company here.

NOTTINGHAM

Race 3 No9 TUKI TUKI (Nap)
Trainer: Hughie Morrison – Jockey: Clifford Lee

Showcasing filly TUKI TUKI should prove fully effective pulled back to five furlongs for the first time. He debut third behind Amarinta at Newbury looks a string form, one based on the subsequent exploits of her conqueror, while she again displayed plenty of natural speed when placed over 1200 metres at Lingfield.

Race 4 No4 SAAHEQ (Each Way)
Trainer: Amanda Perrett – Jockey: Mia Nicholls

SAAHEQ has done well for his trainer in winning twice and placing in all but two of his other starts. The veteran is possibly better on sand than turf, but granted luck in running can find a way through to take away another cheque on a track that should favour him.
