Neil Morrice outlines his best bets and tips for Wednesday’s British meetings at Wincanton, Market Rasen, Lingfield Park and Kempton Park on 30/03/2022.
WINCANTON – 30/03/ 2022
Race 5 No2 KAKAMORA
Trainer: Tom George – Jockey: Jonathan Burke
KAKAMORA has attracted support a couple of times since having his attention switched to fences, and placing on all four starts. His races have been won by multiple winning individuals, and in these slightly calmer waters he can deservedly claim victory.
Race 6 No9 MOORLAND RAMBLER (Nap)
Trainer: Jane Williams – Jockey: Chester Williams
Telescope gelding MOORLAND RAMBLER, the only four-year-old in the field, may have the edge on Stormin Crossgales in an interesting nightcap. The Nap put in an improved display at Taunton at the end of last month, and is getting 10lb from that older rival.
MARKET RASEN – 30/03/2022
Race 1 No2 SUPER SIX
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies
SUPER SIX looks to be getting his mojo back judging by a good effort when second on handicap debut at Taunton. The former smart bumper performer returns to novice company with a strong chance of going one better, and should prove hard to beat.
Race 2 No6 SEABOROUGH (Each Way)
Trainer: Derek Shaw – Jockey: Lewis Dobb
Getting a win out of SEABOROUGH is no easy task as you have to go back to 2019 for his last success. The confirmed hold up performer needs to be ridden with precision timing, but if on one of his going days can earn at a decent price.
Race 4 No7 GUERNESEY
Trainer: Philip Hobbs – Tom O’Brien
It’s hard to knock GUERNESEY who performs with the reliability of a Swiss watch. The grey has finished second on four of five outings since scoring at Exeter last autumn and is deserving of a change of luck in the colours carried famously by Champion Hurdler Rooster Booster.
Race 6 No5 EDMOND DANTES (Nap)
Trainer : Ruth Jefferson – Jockey: Brian Hughes
EDMOND DANTES is an appealing betting entity in this handicap chase. He floored an in form opponent in Radetzky March on chase debut at this course and was going well when falling at Newcastle. This is a more competitive race, but he has a great chance of regain8ng the winning thread under the champion jockey elect.
LINGFIELD PARK – 30/03/2022
R2 No1 FORGE VALLEY LAD (Nap)
Trainer: David Simcock – Callum Shepherd
On a largely tricky card for wagering FORGE VALLEY LAD is the only advice. He’s improved with racing this year, and courtesy of a wide margin delivery at Wolverhampton earlier in the month is lumbered with top weight. To his credit he will almost certainly perform to the level expected of him, and faces mainly out of form rivals.
KEMPTON PARK – 30/03/2022
Race 4 No3 VIVE LA REINE (Each Way)
Trainer: David Simcock – Jockey: Hayley Turner
VIVE LA REINE has it all to do on the evidence of three heavy defeats as a juvenile, but the daughter of Twilight Son can do better with a winter on her back and the fact that she is now running in a handicap. Her trainer adds cheek pieces, and she can get into the shake-up.
Race 5 No7 SAIGON (Nap)
Trainer: Marco Botti – Jockey: Neil Callan
Frankel gelding SAIGON is a beautifully-bred individual whose dam was a spectacular winner of the Group 2 Park Hill Stakes at Doncaster. Perfectly drawn three off the rail, he can underline the promise of his narrow defeat in a blanket finish here by opening his account, even though this step back on the distance ladder isn’t guaranteed to suit.
