NEWMARKET
Race 6 No2 CHELSEA GREEN (Each Way)
Trainer: Hugo Palmer – Jockey: Rossa Ryan
Dream Of Love has huge potential and is a worthy favourite but CHELSEA GREEN made a good fist of defying a penalty on her latest outing at Headquarters. She has gone forward mentally since that pleasing effort, and can get some black type next to her name by earning in this Listed race.
Race 7 No4 OTTOMAN FLEET (Nap)
Trainer: Charlie Appleby – Jockey: Ryan Moore
Moore is an eye-taking booking for OTTOMAN FLEET, who having chased home the very smart Alfalila in Pattern company last time should make no mistake dropped into this Listed feature. Fellow Godolphin acceptor Royal Fleet can follow him home.
ASCOT
Race 1 No1 GOSHEN
Trainer: Gary Moore – Jockey: Jamie Moore
This has cut up favourably for GOSHEN to make a winning introduction to fences. The former dual Kingwell Hurdle and Contenders Hurdle winner schooled adeptly over ten fences earlier in the week, and could get a nice lead in the early stages from Cobblers Dream. At or near his best he will outclass his foes.
Race 3 No3 NASSALAM (Nap)
Trainer: Gary Moore – Jockey: Jamie Moore
NASSALAM enjoyed a bountiful campaign with three wins and two second in as many outings over fences. The five-year-old is ready for this return to racecourse duty and can help secure a good day for his trainer and jockey.
Race 4 No9 OUR POWER (Each Way)
Trainer: Sam Thomas – Jockey: Charlie Deutsch
OUR POWER won two out of his six chase outings last season but perhaps put on his best effort when fifth in the hugely competitive Ultima Chase at Cheltenham, won by Coragh Rambler. His trainer’s first runners haven’t set any rivers on fire, but he is fancied to buck that trend in a race in which Tea Clipper, Poppa Poutine and Major Dundee also enter calculations.
WETHERBY
Race 3 No6 INDEFATIGABLE
Trainer: Paul Webber – Jockey: Rex Dingle
INDEFATIGABLE prevailed over Proschema and Thomas Darby in the corresponding race 12 months ago. The nine-year-old has been readied through an earning run on the Flat at Pontefract and can advertise her liking for this track by posting back-to-back victories at the main expense of Sporting John.
Race 4 Bet365 Charlie Hall Chase (Grade 2)
No4 AHOY SENOR (Nap)
Trainer: Lucinda Russell – Jockey: Derek Fox
The score between Bravemansgame and AHOY SENOR is 2-1 in the former’s favour, but there are reasons to believe it can be levelled up in this first major contest of the new jumps season. Ahoy Senor landed the competitive Towton Novices’ Chase here while comfortably accounting for Fury Road in a Grade 1 novices’ chase at Aintree. If he gets into a good rhythm from the front he should prove hard to peg back.
WOLVERHAMPTON
Race 4 No1 SHE’S HOT (Nap)
Trainer: Paul Cole – Jockey: Kevin Stott
SHE’S HOT was unlucky to be beaten at Chelmsford last time after clipping heels with a rival, while she had smoothly opened her account on her previous start at Ffos Las. A 7lb penalty makes life hard for any juvenile, but it’s hard to find anything in the field that can trouble her if she’s in the same form as last time.
Race 5 No5 BELISA DE VEGA
Trainer: Jonny Portman – Jockey: Hector Crouch
BELUSA DE VEGA goes from strength to strength and in adding to her tenacious success at this track last time can complete a fine hat-trick. She has a good draw from which to find off another recent winner in Cloch Nua.
